Welcome to Halifax Cottage in the heart of Adelaide City! Located in the inner east area with easy access to all that the city and surrounds has to offer. Built in 1902, this beautiful bluestone cottage has been thoughtfully renovated to balance traditional character with contemporary design and style. High ceilings, large windows, warm exposed brick, and polished wood and polished concrete flooring combine with comfortable and stylish furnishing. Light, spacious, a calming inner city oasis. Halifax Cottage follows Airbnb’s five-step enhanced cleaning process, which is based on Airbnb’s cleaning handbook that was developed in partnership with experts. We sanitise high-touch surfaces, and clean all surfaces - down to the doorknob. We use appropriate cleaners and disinfectants, and wear protective gear as necessary. We provide extra cleaning supplies, so you can also clean as you stay, and comply with local laws, including any additional safety or cleaning guidelines. Light and spacious, the three large bedrooms, hallway, kitchen, and living space flow effortlessly together and out into the leafy courtyard area – providing a calm inner city oasis. Halifax Cottage is a single storey attached house with a fully enclosed rear courtyard. The three large bedrooms with luxurious queen size beds allow for up to six people to sleep comfortably. An open-concept living/dining area with relaxed seating, smart television, bluetooth sound bar, wood burning fire, and an extendable dining table make up the stunning living area. The kitchen is fully equipped including a dishwasher, gas cooktop, electric oven, microwave, and fridge along with necessary cooking and dining requirements. There is a new washing machine/dryer and renovated bathroom with glass framed shower. The cottage also has full ducted Fujitsu reverse cycle air-conditioning throughout, including a modern fan in the living area. The courtyard off of the kitchen includes a BBQ, umbrella and seating for alfresco dining. The neighbourhood, in the south east corner of Adelaide city, in a quiet yet vibrant area. City parklands encircle the whole city with trails for walking and cycling, playing fields, and international events are an easy stroll up the street. Hutt Street is a handy two minute walk from the cottage boasting supermarkets, banks, post office, bars and restaurants. There is easy access by foot, bike or free bus to the Central Market, Gouger Street restaurants, North Terrace cultural precinct; including the Museum, Art Gallery of South Australia, State Library, Botanic Gardens, and Adelaide Zoo. Rundle Mall and Rundle Street East are ideal shopping destinations only a few minutes away, with further restaurants and home to the Adelaide Fringe and Festival. Take a tram within the city or down to Glenelg Beach, or use the free bus only two minutes from the cottage to take you around the whole city. Parking is available on street free of charge however restricted (during business hours 9-5) to 1 hour directly out front, across Halifax is 2 hour. The street opposite is 24 hour unrestricted free parking. We do have parking passes for our own vehicles which are specific to our car which we are happy to share with you at your own risk. The ideal city location for a wonderful stay in Adelaide. The free City Connector bus service runs on two loops – an inner city loop and an extended loop around North Adelaide providing a link to popular city attractions and shopping, dining and services destinations. The Free City Tram takes you between the South Terrace tram stop, the Entertainment Centre, Botanic Gardens and Festival Plaza. The tram will also take you to the Royal Adelaide Hospital at the west end of North Terrace. The Adelaide Railway Station is the central terminus of the Adelaide Metro railway system, and is located in Central Adelaide. There are also a variety of different bikes are available for day or multi-day hire, including free city bikes through Bike SA. Hire in-store or through the online booking feature.
