Haut-Languedoc Natural Park

Recently converted barn situated in the beautiful Natural Park of the Haut-Languedoc Forests between Saint Pons de Thomieres and La Salvetat sur Agout. An excellent base for exploring the treasures the region has to offer. Open plan living area with large four poster bed and hand-made rustic furniture. Kitchen has a small fridge with freezer shelf, two gas hobs, a small electric oven or wood fired cooking stove for winter, plus all the utensils you could need. The bath room is accessed via a trap door and a unique set of stairs (see pictures). Guests will also have access to the large, south-facing garden with two hammocks situated in the shade and a BBQ area. If required there is an extra bed available in the hand-made woodcutters cabin (Cabane de bûcherons). Separate Listing. Parking for car or 2 Motorcycles. Inside parking of Motorcycles / Bicycles if required. Fire wood for stove included in the nightly charge. Charcoal for BBQ available at extra cost. The barn is for the registered guests only. The garden is shared with the host. Host lives nextdoor and is available, English/French speaking. Four large lakes for water sports. Forests for walks, VTT Mountain bike trails. Many great scenic roads with itineraries set by the tourist office for car and Motorcycle . TET, Trans Euro Trail, off road motorcycle route passes at Mazamet. Rock-climbing areas, Guide books available from host. Access to the GR7, GR77 and GR 71- GR653 Chemin de St-Jacques de Compostelle walking route near by. Trout streams for fly-fishing. (Approx March to September) Wild mushroom season starts in September. (large festival in Angles) Chestnut collecting and festivals in October. Gorge Kayaking Markets / Flea Markets through out the year. (Website hidden by Airbnb) Parking for one car or 2-3 motorcycles next to Gite. Locked parking for Motorcycles and Bicycles if required. Bus stop at entrance to hamlet. E-Car/bike charging in La Salvetat and Angles. Mobile phone connectivity is limited because of the remote location. Free WiFi available inside the barn and some of the garden. During winter months heating and cooking is via a wood fired stove ( fire wood is supplied, one box per day.) Washing machine is free for one small load per week. additional use at a fee agreed with host.
