The Artist's Loft Private Suite

Welcome to the Artist's Loft in historic downtown Madison, Indiana, a 2-bedroom, full bath accommodation w/ second story porch. Includes a private entrance and private space in our 1840s historic home, which retains much of its original charm. Located on a quiet street, one block north of Main St and an easy 10-15 minute walk from the heart of downtown. Lovely green space behind our back garden which is part of the Heritage Trail. An easy walk to restaurants, shopping, boat races and festivals. The Artist's Loft is conveniently located to all of Madison's annual events, including Chautauqua, Regatta, River Roots, Ribberfest, among many others. In addition, favorite boutiques like Little Golden Fox and Blush are a short walk, as are popular eateries, The Red Pepper and The Red Pepperoni. We are just around the corner from two of Madison's biggest antique malls and a great place to stay for the weekend treasure hunter. For the nature lover, the Heritage Trail is located within steps from your door, and Clifty Falls State Park is nearby. Your space consists of two private rooms and a private bathroom located on the second story of our home. You also have a private second story porch. You have a private entrance to your space, via stairs to your porch. Please note there is no kitchen. There is a small refrigerator with a separate freezer compartment. There is a coffee maker with coffee, sugar and cream provided, as well as tea bags. There is NO microwave. There is a TV in one of the rooms, which I will call here the second bedroom. The tv has only Internet channels, such as Netflix, Pandora and CBSN news station. There is a large bathtub/shower. Bathroom access is only from the second bedroom, which is the room with the day bed and TV. The first bedroom has a queen size bed. The second bedroom has a day bed with a twin size Serta mattress, but no box spring. Please be advised that this is an upstairs unit. Not suitable for children under 12. The spirit of the Artist's Loft is a direct reflection of resident owners, Robert and Michelle, who are artists, musicians and nature lovers. We have provided a great place to come to unwind, where you can enjoy our quaint river town and all it has to offer. Guests have access to their private rooms plus a private second story porch. We like to meet our guests upon arrival, if possible. During COVID, we have contactless check in. After that, you have complete privacy and independence unless you need something from us. I always share my cell phone number and encourage guests to please let me know if they have questions or need something. I do like open communication throughout your stay so please feel free to text or call me with any needs you have. We are located one block from Main St., and about a 10-15 minute walk from the heart of downtown. If you are a moderate walker, you may choose to leave your car. If it's best for you, you can drive and be in the middle of the shopping district in no time. There is free street parking on our street and around the city, as well as a couple of free city parking lots. Please note that this is an upstairs unit. Climbing stairs is required. Please note that the only tv is in the second bedroom or "living room". This is the room with the day bed. Please note that access to the bathroom is via the second bedroom or "living room." This is the room with the Day bed. If you are sleeping in the main bedroom, you will need to go into the second bedroom to access the bathroom. The main bedroom has a supplemental window air conditioner. The home has central air and heat, but the thermostat is downstairs, controlled by the owner. Also please note there is no kitchen, but there is a small refrigerator and coffee maker. Please note that you have private space but this unit is located on the second floor of our home.
