Penpol House, Crantock, a stunning place for 12+
Penpol House was loving refurbished and brought back to life in 2019. It now features 6 beautiful bedrooms, 5 bathrooms & an enviable kitchen/diner. The house benefits from two kitchens & several living areas, so is the perfect place for several families to holiday together. There is plenty of parking, huge gardens & a hot tub to unwind in after a day at the beach Check in is on Saturdays, & the house is rented on a weekly basis. Out of high season we can do shorter breaks, please message! Penpol House is the perfect place for a get away with family and friends. There are six great bedrooms, three of which have ensuite bathrooms, and a further two large family bathrooms. The house can also be set up as two separate houses, each with their own kitchen and living areas. To the rear of the house we have brought the old dairy back to life, opened it up into the main house and in the process, uncovered an old well; which can now be found lit up under a glass panel! We have named this part ‘Well Cottage’ and it has it’s own kitchen, dining space and living room; making it a perfect spot for some of your guests to have their own space or extra space for preparing a feast! The main living room has an open fire and large bay windows looking onto the gardens. Its original features are mirrored in the games room, which has a pool table perfect for a challenge before or after dinner. The established gardens have plenty of space to explore with a large lawn, walled secret garden, an orchard, sunken BBQ and seating areas. After a busy day on the beach make use of the 7 seater hot tub and wind away the evenings. Penpol House is situated in the hamlet of Penpol, just a 2 minute walk to the Gannel Estuary which is perfect for paddle boarding and is bursting with wildlife! Penpol is a short stroll away from Crantock Village and the beautiful Crantock Beach. Bedrooms The are six sumptuous bedrooms, all with Super King beds. Two of the bedrooms can be made into twin rooms on request. Bathrooms There are three ensuites, all with a shower and two further family bathrooms, which both have a freestanding bath and walk in shower. The house also has two downstairs WC’s. Kitchen The kitchen is the showpiece of the house! A huge room that is fully equipped with everything you could need! There are two Neff ovens, an extra large Neff induction hob, built in dishwasher and the all important Quooker boiling water tap! With 3 fridges, a freezer and an additional wine fridge there is plenty of space to stock up. A pantry cupboard includes lots of storage, a Nespresso coffee machine and a breakfast making nook. The house has two utility areas, each with it’s own washing machine and tumble dryer. Families We love holidaying as a family and welcome children of all ages to Penpol House. A travel cot, highchair, baby monitor, steriliser and more can be provided on request. Outdoors The gardens of Penpol House are a fantastic place to spend the day. From soaking up the sun, playing games on the large lawn to exploring the orchard and secret walled garden or finishing up the day in the hot tub. There are two BBQ areas with built in charcoal BBQ’s and dining furniture. Parking is available for several cars. Entertainment As well as Smart TVs in the Kitchen and Living room, there is a separate games room with a pool table, lots of board games and an old fashioned record player (with a selection of LP’s). There is a huge library of DVDs and books for guests to enjoy and Bluetooth speakers can be found in the kitchen and games room. WiFi is provided throughout the property. Penpol Creek Less than a 3 minute walk from Penpol House, this wildlife rich inlet off the Gannel estuary was once a busy port on the North cost of Cornwall. It has now silted up with sand and creates a perfect place to paddle board and kayak at high tide. The low tide footbridge provides a pathway to explore Newquay and it’s many restaurants and shops. Crantock Beach The stunning Crantock beach is backed by towering sand dunes with the Gannel to the Northern edge. The beach provides a huge expanse of sand, rock pools and caves to explore at low tide. See if you can find the lady of Crantock hidden in one of the caves! During the season you can find the awesome Big Green Surf School on the beach and Cargo Coffee serving up coffees, cakes and the most delicious ice creams. It is only a 10-15 minute walk along the coastal path or through the village, or a short drive away. Crantock Village Just a short walk into the village and you can find a fantastically stocked village shop and Post Office. There are two pubs; The Old Albion Inn and Saltwater & Sand, Jam Jar Kitchen and St Carantoc Church. West Pentire is a further ten minute walk and is home to the famous Poly Joke Poppy fields, CBay Restaurant and Spa, and The Bowgie Inn, which has the best view across Crantock Beach and beyond. Newquay & Beyond This bustling seaside town has a large number of independent restaurants, bars, cafes and shops. The seven beaches are splendid and provide world-class surf and something different to experience. There is plenty to see and do in Newquay from fishing trips, surf lessons, yoga classes and nightlife plus many spots to entertain the children. Cornwall is a fantastic foodie destination and some of the local restaurants will not disappoint. Locally sourced produce, Cornish beer, ales and spirits and stunning sunsets. We have many favourites so please contact us if you would like any suggestions for a family favourite, a drink with a view or a more intimate meal. There is a regular bus service into Newquay and Truro from the centre of Crantock Village. Newquay train station is a 10 minute drive away. Bodmin Parkway is about 30 minute drive and has a direct rail route to London and Plymouth
