Alauzet Eco Lodge + Nature SPA Alauzet is a magical place created to provide a nurturing space for you to reconnect with nature and your own essence. We have build the accommodations and Sauna with our own hands and lots of passion. The lake houses are constructed and decorated with natural materials and a bohemian style. Providing you with a unique, comfortable and romantic home away from home. A truly inspirational place to experience an unforgettable vacation or retreat. The lake houses are newly build with a lot of love and eye for detail. The houses have two floors (70m2) and are very comfortable and functional. The kitchen is fully supplied with high quality equipment such as a Smegg stove, oven and fridge. There are 5 single beds, which is good for groups. But in two rooms these can be made into double beds. So it is also very comfortable for couples. You will have the entire lake house and its tarraces to yourself. The lake is a few meters from your terrace. The water is very clean and energizing so perfect for swimming. CANOES You can use the canoes free of charge any time during your stay. SPA We have a wood fired Sauna and Hot tub with breath taking views! Right at the lake so you can jump in to refresh yourself after sweating out all your toxins. We never heat the sauna and hot-tub up at the same day. Because it takes a lot of wood, time and energy to heat them both up. That way you can really enjoy the sauna one day, and the hot-tub another day. We offer 1 private sauna session with your booking for free. Sometimes there is the possibility that we will heat up the sauna more times during the week. This depends on the weather and how busy we are. You can request an additional private sauna session for €30 Our outdoor hot-tub next to the lake is filled with water from the lake and heated with firewood. We add a few drops of fragrant esssential oils to provide you with the ultimate ecoluxurious wellness experience. Private hot-tub session €50 (NOT AVAILABLE) *The hot-tub is currently out of use because it is broken. Sorry for the inconvenience It will take about 4hours to heat up the facilities so please let us know in advance when you want to take a spa day. We live on the property but we respect your privacy and need for intimacy with your family or group. When you are interested to organise activities we are happy to accomodate you and see how we can contribute to make your stay even more magical. We are located in the Aveyron, a rural department in the South of France. We are right on the lake of Castelnau de Mandailles, providing us with breath-taking views and plenty of opportunity for water activities. With just a few steps you can jump in the water for a refreshing swim or in a canoe for a scenic tour. Being a nature reserve our area is raw, lush and green. It’s a true paradise for bird watchers. An amazing number of birds populates the area including; woodpeckers, owls, hoopoes, falcons, buzzards, eagles and even griffon vultures. There is also other wildlife that you can spot, when you are quiet and lucky, such as; bore, dear, squirrels, martens, weasels and snakes. The Aveyron is a well-kept secret. It is one of the most sparsely populated regions of France, even in summer. It’s the forgotten land, a place where time stood still and the lanscapes and villages have that romantic medieval allure. There is no public transportation so it is advisable to bring a car DIGITAL DETOX Digital Detoxing is hot and quite necessary these days. We don't have WIFI or a TV in the accommodations because we believe that it will allow you to rest more fully, and engage in true connections with your family, friends and nature. But you can use the WIFI at the Bar when you need it, which is 100m from your house. So you won't be cut off from the rest of the world completely ;-) SPIDERS AND OTHER ANIMALS IN OUR ECO-SYSTEM Maison Alauzet - Eco Lodge is situated in a Natura 2000 zone. It is a nature reserve with a very wild landscape. We feel fortunate to be able to live in such close connection with nature, and to share that with our clients. But living in the forest also means that we have animals and insects in or around the accommodation such as spiders, ants, beetles, bees, wasps, hornets, mice, snake... They are part of our healthy eco-system! Before every check-in we properly clean and vacuum the house, also the ceilings, to remove spiderwebs. But the spiders live in the nooks and crannies of the wood and natural stone. Therefore they sometimes come back within 2 hours after cleaning. We ask you for your understanding, and appreciation for these beautiful creatures that keep the mosquitoes away! In case you have a disliking or fobia for spiders or any of the other animals above, then please don't book your stay with us! (We will not give refunds when you are bothered by animals or insect)
