Castello del Duca is an ancient fortified village dating back to medieval times. It stands on a hill at the gates of Rome in a dominant position and enjoys an enchanting view, looking from one side to the Marcigliana Nature Reserve, of which it is part, and the other to the beautiful Roman countryside of the Plain of the Tiber, up to the Reatini Mountains. You can enjoy the common garden and the private park that extends all around Castello del Duca, with pines, olives and oak trees. There are two supermarkets open until 8 pm (even on Sundays), three café-bars, a pharmacy, a post office, two ATMs, a pizzeria and a restaurant. Any shop can be reached on foot in 10 minutes. About 10 minutes walk is the train station of Settebagni where every 15 minutes you can take the train to Fiumicino airport (1 hour) or get off at Tiburtina Station (18 minutes) where you can take the Metro B to reach in a few minutes the centre of Rome (i.e. Colosseum: 8 minutes). The tourist tax of 3,50 euros per person per night (max. 10 nights, children under 10 years old don't pay) is not included. You can pay it by cash or credit card upon arrival.
