The Piggery - Barn, Hope Cove, Devon - Sleeps 3-4

Welcome to The Piggery! Newly refurbished, this snug barn sleeps up to 4 but best suited to small family. The Piggery is a 2 bedroom barn conversion, sleeping 3-4 people, situated a mile from Hope Cove on a working sheep farm. We’ve lovingly restored this piggery - now modern with no signs of the previous piggy residents (thankfully) but retains its charm-plus a few luxuries! We’ve lovingly restored this piggery. Bedroom one: super-king zip lock bed (sleeps 2) Bedroom two: Single bed with pull out bed suitable for a child (sleeps 1) Lounge sofa bed: Sofa bed becomes a double bed (sleeps 1) On the ground floor is an open plan living room/ kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and all the kitchen utensils you’ll need. It also features a wood burner and logs can be ordered ready for your arrival at a small extra cost. We allow four-legged friends to accompany you in The Piggery! The Piggery is on a working farm where husband David and son Richard take care of an award-winning pedigree flock. We’ve over 300 acres in an area of outstanding natural beauty – some of which borders the coast – and provides a great coastal walking and breathtaking views. Walk across the fields to Hope Cove – a small fishing village which has 2 sandy beaches with local pubs serving food and drinks to both locals and holiday-makers alike. 1 mile to the village of Malborough with shop, post office & playing field. 1 mile to the picturesque fishing village of Hope Cove with sandy beaches & pubs. 3 miles to the Kingsbridge - Salcombe Estuary. Guests are welcome to explore and use all parts of the farm, but for your own safety, please be aware of farm traffic, animals and water and ensure that children are accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times. We are almost always available and are delighted to help with any queries or advice on the local area, but we also understand that people like their privacy. The Piggery is located on a working farm with over 1000 sheep (as well as our resident geese - Lucy & George) together with Carol, The Call Duck and her friends "The Runners" so there is always something to see and do here! We are: - 1 mile to the village of Malborough which has a playing field, mini-supermarket, petrol station, pubs & Post Office - 1 mile to the fishing village of Hope Cove which is situated right on the South West Coast Path, with pubs and sandy beaches - 3 miles to the picturesque (& famous!) estuary town of Salcombe, situated at the mouth of the Kingsbridge-Salcombe Estuary, with its turquoise waters, designer shops and some of the best views in the South Hams. - 4 miles to the market town of Kingsbridge, situated at the head of the Kingsbridg-Salcombe Estuary, which has a variety of independent shops and picturesque walks along the estuary. - 15 miles to the edge of Dartmoor, perfect for walks, stunning views and exploring what the South West has to offer. You'll need a car or comfortable walking boots to get around here - we're a 4 min drive to the nearest shop and public transport isn't readily accessible locally. The nearest (regular) bus can be caught from Malborough and runs every hour. Please remember that we are situated in a rural area, on a working farm, so there may be some noise, for example from tractors, dogs and sheep.
