Enjoy being surrounded by trees and water with a National Park and Karuah river surrounding the house. Birds are abundant and an occasional kangaroo will greet you in the morning and evening. If you are lucky a Koala might say hello. Please note we do have kids who do make noise. The studio apartment is perfect for a couple or family. It is on the downstairs level of our house and sleeps 4 persons (Queen bed and convertible sofa bed - not too comfortable for 2 adults but great for smaller persons and kids) and has a bathroom, simple kitchenette for basic cooking (inside/outside setting, no hot water outside, only kettle or from indoor bathroom) and an outside deck. You have outdoor seating with river views and BBQ. We have a double and two single kayaks available for use by our guests. A list of items in the studio for you to use (to help you plan your meals and what things to bring): For cooking: - Kettle - Electric Kettle - Fridge/Freezer - Gas cooker - BBQ (must be cleaned after use, refer to house manual) - Toaster - Ricecooker - Blender - Pan/2 Pots - Plates,Cutlery, chopping boards, Cooking utensils & Glasses For entertainment: - 40” Samsung LED with USB/HDMI connection - WiFi (ADSL1,5 ... it’s the country but we can watch Netflix w/o probs) - Selection of Books & Magazines (English and German) - 1 double and 2 single Kayaks For creature comforts: - Fans - Small heater + extra blankets/doonas for winter - Ironing board and Iron - Hair dryer Please note we do live upstairs and have a little daughter and son. There might be times you could hear her, but they sleep from 1900 to 0700 most days. The studio apartment & front yard. The main house has a separate entrance. Parking at bottom of driveway. You can drive up to load/unload. If hosts are available we are happy to share our local knowledge with you. We respect your privacy but don’t be shy - we are easy going and always up for a chat. Explore the country roads with Port Stephens, the Hunter Valley, Newcastle, Maitland, Gloucester, Dungog, Seal Rocks, Barrington Tops and Myall Lakes all at your doorstep - easy access to beaches, mountains, rivers, lakes and vineyards offer limitless opportunities for hiking, diving, surfing, fishing, mountainbiking, cycling, boating, dining, drinking, kayaking and relaxing. We have a double and two single Kayaks for our guests to use - launch straight outside the house! Pura Vida! Karuah is the "Pearl" of Port Stephens. Fresh Oysters are abundand and the river has great fishing. You are a close to great beaches and other attractions without the hustle and busle you normally find around Port Stephens. We are only a short 25min drive from Newcastle airport. We might be able to pick up guests. There is a drop from the retaining wall outside the studio. You need to have adventureous kids under control.
