Nestled in a quiet hamlet in the heart of Brittany, these pretty 16th-century, stone-built cottages (FBM149 & FBM243) and the converted water mill (FBM150) are set amidst acres of idyllic grounds, complete with a river, mill pond and a large lake with small trouts (ideal for families, not for professionals - free fishing available for guests). Lovingly restored and traditionally decorated by the British owners, incorporating beamed ceilings and log burners. The quaint mill house "Le Moulin", with its mill stream trickling alongside, provides cosy accommodation for two and views across the mill pond and lakes from its rear patio, while the spacious "Maisons de Niziau" both feature exposed stonework and a pretty patio overlooking the river. The surrounding countryside is perfect for hiking and cycling. The historic town of Pontivy, with its château set on the River Blavet, weekly market and restaurants serving traditional Breton fayre, is located 16 km away. Also within easy reach are the lake of Guerlédan (20km) and, slightly further away, Mûr de Bretagne (26km), with their beaches and watersports. The coast is easily accessible, with the Golfe du Morbihan (70km) well worth exploring. Carnac (73km) is renowned for its rows of 2000 standing stones that constitute the most important prehistoric site in Europe. FBM149 (for 6) and FBM150 (for 2) are on the same site and can be rented together for groups of friends or families wishing to spend their holiday together.
