Charming cottage on 2 acres in the heart of Abingdo
The Meadow Cottage is a charming one level, three bedroom cottage tucked away on a quiet two acre meadow in Abingdon’s historic district. The cottage, built in the 1930's, has been lovingly restored and modern conveniences added with only our guests' comforts in mind! Decorated in English cottage style, the cottage boasts hardwood floors, bead board ceilings, hand-painted walls and furniture as well as attractive furnishings and local artwork. This tranquil hide-away has three bedrooms: a large queen master and two double bedrooms. There is a full bath and laundry area. A cozy living room and fully equipped country kitchen are centrally located between the bedrooms areas. Two nice porches offer quiet spots to visit, settle with a good book or simply enjoy the meadow life. The beautiful back yard offers privacy for outdoor dining and relaxing. Complete with a patio pavilion and fireput area makes this a perfect place to enjoy a night under the stars with friends or family or nap in the hammock. Our newly renovated canning shed is a perfect addition to the meadow. We call it our room with a view. Curl up with a book or just enjoy a quiet moment. Stroll the meadow and if you are lucky you will spot a deer or enjoy watching the golden hawks soar above. The Cottage is a short bike ride or walk to dining and shopping areas, a local brewery as well as Barter Theatre and The Virginia Creeper Trail. The trailhead of the Virginia Creeper Trail is about an 8 minute bike ride. Whether you want a romantic getaway, a weekend with friends on the Creeper Trail or a week-long family vacation, The Meadow Cottage offers a perfect setting with all the conveniences of home. Complimentary pastries, juices and coffees/teas are provided on arrival morning. Enjoy complimentary passes to the Coomes Recreation Center.
