250m2 di ospitalità nei luoghi di Leonardo DaVinci
Quiet well furnished rural home near the river Adda and the landscapes that inspired Leonardo da Vinci for the Gioconda. In between Monza and Lecco, a few minutes by car from the lakes of Como e Oggiono. The house lies at Cicognola, Merate, next to a 19th century Villa. The house is in a wing of a rural building dated 19th century, completely and finely restored in respect of the original building structure, including the original wood beams that still decorate the ground floor ceiling and a big fireplace with sitting benches in the wide kitchen, fully equipped, including a dish-washing machine. The kitchen faces a little path that leads to the natural reservation of Sartirana and its nice lake, at walking distance from home. The house develops starting from a big lounge at the ground floor with wood beams that leads to a dining room with adjoining living room on one side and the kitchen with fireplace, a guest bathroom with shower and the garage on the other (the garage is not for guests usage). A big wood stair leads to the first floor that opens on a veranda overlooking the courtyard, perfect place for relaxing and reading, a studio with bookcase, a utility room with washing machine, a huge bathroom with shower and jacuzzi and 3 bedrooms: the master bedroom overlooking the garden and the fields around the house, another double bedroom and a twin beds room. Roberto (English and French speaking) and Jadira (Spanish speaking) are available in case of need and for information and details about the place. A car is suggested and it can be free parked either in the courtyard or in a comfortable free parking area just outside the garden. You can rent bicycles in the nearby village A few minutes by car separate the house from the town of Lecco with its charming lake and the town of Monza - wellknown for its gothic cathedral dating back to 1300, where Federico Barbarossa was crowned (his crown is actually still in the cathedral) and for the Monza racetrack. Bergamo is at few kilometers. A few minutes biking are enough to reach the parks of Curone and the Molgora or the Adda river. Here you can cross the little imaginative ferry, built basing on the project by Leonardo da Vinci, or bike along the riversides scouting for some interesting examples of industrial archeology, or maybe for one of the many nice little restaurants of the area. Following the signs, people can see the landscapes painted by Leonardo da Vinci in his Gioconda and the Vergine delle Roccce. At only 10 minutes by car, Montevecchia offers a visit to its sanctuary, a glance to its pretty views or again a stop for some local specialities in one of its trattorias. Close the house, people can reach and visit the medieval monastery of Sabbioncello, still hosting a community of franciscan friars. Should you miss the chaotic atmospher of a big city, which we doubt, Milano is at only 40 kilometers and can be reached in about 25 minutes by train from the nearby station of Cernusco Lombardone bound to the two stations of Milano Garibaldi or Milano Centrale. The Expo is at about one hour by car, only 40 minutes by a connection from the train mentioned reilway stations to the underground station of Sesto Marelli.
