Eira, modern space in the tranquility of a farm

Eira is a fantastic place to stay, an area where old granite walls and floors meets modern furniture and decoration. Eira was once a storage room for cereals: the floor of the bedrooms is made of large paving stones of granite... Great in Summer, really comfortable and warm in Winter. 2 bedrooms with 2 en-suite bathrooms. There is an extra room with a sofabed where two children can sleep. Living room with woodburning stove and TV (satellite). Modern and fully fitted kitchen. Central heating. Outside, a fantastic and private area with the large and traditional "eira" (threshing-floor, in granite) and the old "espigueiro" (granary, also in granite). A private garden with fig trees completes this charming area. Just beside is the swimming-pool (this one can be shared with other possible guests). Towels & linens provided, firewood included. Pets not allowed. Kitchen: electric cooker (ceramic hob), electric oven, microwave, toaster, refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher. Living/Dining Room: woodburning stove, sofa, flat screen tv (satellite). You have access to a laundry with a washing machine & iron. Eira is managed by our family (Magalhães Quaresma). Our family has been owning the main house for more than 200 years. One of us will always be available to help you in any question you may have. We can also give you suggestions for walks or touristic itineraries, best restaurants, etc. Eira lies 1 km away from the town of Vieira do Minho, about 30 km from Braga. Located in the vicinity of the Ermal Dam, the farm and its surroundings are ideally suited for pleasant and interesting walks. The whole district, stretching as far as the Caniçada Dam, offers countless trips which beckon you to discover its beautiful landscape and rich cultural heritage. The region is ideally suited for mountain and nautical sports, hiking, riding, angling, hunting, etc. Both the Cabreira Mountain range and the Peneda-Gerês National Park are just a few kilometres away from the farm.
