You are invited to enjoy your holidays in a charming atmosphere in a year round sunny location in Schönau am Königssee, Bavaria! An interesting artist and forest keeper's house awaits you in wonderful quiet surroundings. The house was built in 1957, and primarily renovated 2008 keeping alive a bit of the 50's style. In 2011 we started renovation with 2 new bath-/showerrooms as well as a state of the art central (solar-)/-heating sytem; in 2013 windows and doors have been changed to the most innovative insulated style. So even in the cold wintertime, a very cosy and home place awaits you. and finally in 2019 a new kitchen is done and new furniture in the living room. The hourse is furnished with an eclectic style of antiques and new pieces to give it the proper balance of comfort. There are several original paintings by former owner and artist Irmgard Ledermann, maiden name Dieterich, that are displayed around the home. You will live on a hill in Oberschönau halfway between Berchtesgaden and the village of Schönau in the middle of the picturesque valley basin of Berchtesgaden and just 1 mile from the Obersalzberg and Eagls Nest. The massive mountains of Watzmann, Hockkalter, Göll, Untersberg and Tote Mann as well as Obersalzberg surround the basin. The house is located at the end of a little private road and directly connected to a piece of forest and a meadow. This is a perfect area for children to have an adventure, and play right outside the patio doors. Enjoy the sundeck all day and the sunset when coming back from hikes or sightseeing tours. Even in winter time you will have clear sunny days which you can enjoy – packed in warm blankets - for a few hours in the deck chairs. 160 square meters (probably 1.800sqft) 3 bedroom, 2,5 bathroom and spaciously designed living areas, outfitted throughout with natural materials as solid wooden floors made out of oak, larch, and local Norway spruce, as well as cut stone tiles in the bathrooms are only a few highlights. There is a closed garage for one car with space for storage of skis and bicycles available as well as a big carport attached. The drive way and the lawn and the forest offer enough space for playing for your kids. In the basement of the house is a washer and dryer for your disposal.
