Breathtaking Ocean Views in Modern Comfort (2)

My home is filled with light, and is modern and elegant. Built on the hill it sits above the clouds where breathtaking views of an ever changing landscape can be seen. It is the perfect place to stay for couples, solo adventurers or families with children. The neighbourhood is quiet and safe. If this room is booked please check my other listing for more rooms. Welcome to my 4 bedroom modern architecturally designed home high on the hill. Entering the house you are greeted by panoramic views of the ocean, estuary and the Southern Alps. The living rooms capture the sun from early morning until sunset. There is a seating area outside the lounge, this is a perfect place to enjoy breakfast and a coffee. The kitchen, dining room and lounge are upstairs and the bedrooms downstairs. These are also beautifully sunny. The bedroom doors open onto a palm-lined deck from where you can stroll into the garden. If you are a coffee lover you're in luck! I have a Rocket Coffee machine and would be happy to make you a cup. The kitchen is modern and you are free to use it to cook your meals. You may like to make use of herbs from my small herb and salad garden. I provide a simple breakfast which I will leave on the counter. The laundry is available for your use. My job requires me to come and go so you are free to make use of the space as you would your own home when I am not here. I am happy to chat and offer suggestions of places to visit if you wish. I live beside a native reserve which is popular with walkers and bikers alike. Native birds are attracted to planting which is ongoing there and it is wonderful to hear them. There are many walking tracks in the area, some take you to the top of the Port hills from where you overlook Port Lyttleton and the crater rim. This is a quiet and peaceful neighbourhood. You feel safe here. It is a 30 minute drive to the airport. 15 minute drive to the CBD The Ferrymead shopping area is 5 minutes drive away. It is a small hub cafes, restaurants,fitness centres a supermarket and hardware store. In the other direction (east) is the delightful seaside village of Sumner. On the way be sure to stop at the Redcliffs dairy, it is the best ice-cream shop ever. In Sumner you will find many excellent restaurants and bars. For a delicious Indian meal I recommend "Indian Sumner." There are bus stops to and from Christchurch city less than 5 minutes walk away from my house. I can provide you with timetables. A Mt Pleasant special is the Saturday Farmer's Market at the foot of the hill. There you will find all things delicious, fresh local produce, bread, cheese, pesto and meat. If you prefer, a 10 minute drive through the tunnel will take you to the 'famous' Lyttleton Farmer's Market. The main street is closed on Saturday mornings for this event. It would be a shame to miss it.
