The Manor Stables
The historic stables were built around 1900, and sit in the incredible surroundings of the Manor House, Hinton St Mary. Never before has the family allowed visitors to stay in these historical surroundings. Steeped in history and English beauty, this refurbishment has been done to the highest standard. Modern kitchen and bathroom. Wood burner for cosy fireside relaxation. This is a totally unique house being done up to a very high spec. Super fast internet and a beautiful outdoor space makes it the perfect lock down escape. The main bedroom can either be a super king size or two singles, and the second bedroom can either be a king size or two singles. The bathroom consists of a bath and overhead shower. The kitchen is fully equipped (please note there is no washing machine). The living room has a wood burner, large tv and is well furnished. There is also a good size dining area. You have a wonderful huge traditional walled garden, safe for children with a magical tower where you can sit and toast your stay with a sundowner or even dinner by candlelight. We give guests total space but are are available if needed. The key is left in a keybox The village is beautiful, and quiet. The local pub is within walking distance and does great food (closed for refurb but will reopen by Easter 2022). Other great local pubs just a 5 mins journey away. (Website hidden by Airbnb) The Fiddleford is really lovely especially if you want to walk or cycle. You can join the Trailway in Sturminster Newton and walk/cycle to the Fiddleford, it is not far, half an hour walk from the end of the trailway and it is super friendly. There is access to fantastic walks along the river stour and cycling along the north Dorset trailway which runs for 18 miles from Sturminster newton to Blandford. Olympic horse rider William Fox Pitt has his stables in the village so horses are often seen being exercised around the lanes. There is another two bedroom property next door which is available for rental through Airbnb - The Manor Lodge. You have access to and use of a walled garden behind the Tithe Barn, this is shared with our adjacent rental property The Manor Lodge. The nearest station is Gillingham. It is 20 minutes away. A car is useful, bikes work well. We can offer two adult electric bikes for hire, details available upon request.
