The Old Tannery

A traditional sandstone barn conversion, with a sheltered garden in the beautiful village of Temple Sowerby. Located in the Eden Valley you will be well placed for trips to the Lakes or the Dales. In the village there is a local pub offering 'Day Fishing Licences' on the local river, a church and 'The House at Temple Sowerby' if you prefer some 'Fine Dining'. A short beautiful walk will bring you to 'Acorn Bank' National Trust House, with spectacular walks along the river and a tea room. All spaces can be used and I hope you will get use of the sheltered garden area. You are free to use the whole area, however the parking space to the right of the gate is not mine, so please don’t block or use this as the neighbours need to use this. I do not live in the village and set up the property so you can have total privacy, I am more than happy to help with information and suggestions, and should be any issues do let me know and I can arrange for a family or friend to come and sort things out. Temple Sowerby is a great village with a Green with swings etc for kids to play. A short walk out of the village is Acorn Bank National Trust House. You are nestled between the Lakes and Dales with easy access to each. Car will be best and there is ample parking for 2 cars. I can provide you with a taxi number should you need it. There is a bus service run by Stagecoach, bus number 563, there are 4 services per day Monday to Friday between Penrith and Appleby. No service at the weekends however. My neighbour cuts the grass so there may be occasional times when this gets done during your stay.
