Beautiful converted Manor House Hop Kiln
Attached to our graceful Elizabethan Manor House and set within four acres is this quirky yet comfortable conversion of a hop kiln which has been recently refurbished to a high standard. The accommodation faces south and is flanked by two enormous three hundred year old cedar trees on a quiet country lane. This area really is something to behold with its breathtaking countryside and uninterrupted views towards the local farmer's blueberry fields - if you are up early enough in late summertime, you will see the fruit pickers arriving. The landscape is Herefordshire at its finest with beautiful rural views towards the West Malvern hills on one side and the nearby picturesque and historic market town of Ledbury and beyond to Gloucestershire and Wales on the other. Compact but cleverly designed, the accommodation has three bedrooms, two of which are doubles with king sized beds and a twin room. There is one bathroom with a good sized bath incorporating a modern shower suite over. The bathroom also houses the washing machine and condensing drier which are housed in a separate cupboard. The open plan sitting / dining room and kitchen is dominated by an imposing old brick inglenook which is fitted with a working wood-burning stove - perfect to gather around in the winter or on a chilly autumn day after a brisk country walk on the nearby Malvern Hills. There’s a generous enclosed and walled south facing private terrace accessed through French doors from the kitchen area. The accommodation has been well equipped throughout with new plumbing, installation of hard wired fire and smoke detectors and brand new electrical wiring with plug sockets and integral USB ports. Super high speed WiFi is also fitted and is available free of charge. We really want this to be a home away from home and have equipped it with everything from a Scrabble board game to a potato masher. And if there’s something that you find that you need, like a phone lead or an extra towel, we are close at hand to assist. Most importantly though, our aim is to provide clean and comfortable accommodation in a peaceful and beautiful country house setting where you really can just tune out and relax. Your accommodation is annexed to and set amongst the grounds of our lovely old stone house which was built around 1570. Guests are very welcome to walk around the garden and grounds but we do kindly ask you to take care in and around any areas that are being worked on and that our privacy is respected in the areas near to the rear door and on the front terrace. We work from home and we run our antiques business in one of the outbuildings at the other end of the property. We are used to visitors - we’d be delighted to let you have a look around our large showroom and at the current stock of English and French decorative country antiques. We are no strangers to hosting, having gained much experience whilst running a hospitality business in France and we are always happy to chat with you when we are not busy running around. We are always usually on hand to assist with any problems or offer advice including recommendations or places to visit. You will often see Stuart pottering in the new kitchen garden or in the cactus house next to the Hop Kiln. I might be tucked away in the workshop doing some antique furniture restoration. We have two dogs - Mr Sausage and Percy. Both are quite inquisitive but they are very friendly and can be extremely fickle! We are in an idyllic position overlooking blueberry fields which are part of some 400 acres of a bustling fruit farm. The house is set back from a small country lane but just a short drive away from the well heeled historic market town of Ledbury with several good supermarkets and all of the amenities that you would expect to find and many shops you would not! There is a footpath across the fields in front of the house which takes you up to the village and it’s popular pub, The Farmers Arms.
