Castle Farm House Cottage Postcode: BA22 7HA
Nestled at the foot of historic Cadbury Castle in beautiful South Cadbury, our home is perfectly situated for anyone looking to escape the rat-race and recharge their batteries. Great local walks and fabulous local pubs within walking distance. A fabulous place to break a journey if you're travelling from London to Cornwall as we are pretty much half way. However, be warned, those that have done this so far, always wish they were staying for longer, and sometimes they do! Castle Farmhouse Cottage is in South Cadbury, Postcode: BA22 7HA Rest, relax and unwind in a beautiful and historic location. Castle Farmhouse was originally built in 1687. Skip three hundred years on and in the 1980s it was divided into two separate rental dwellings by the previous owners. Steve and I have decided to keep them separate and to offer 'the Cottage' as a holiday let with the option of expanding back into it as and when our children are back home for high days and holidays. I love interiors and am always disappointed when staying away when the linen is not what you'd expect or the surroundings don't feel sympathetic and welcoming - if not down right luxurious! So I very much hope if you choose to come and stay at Castle Farmhouse Cottage, you will feel the love and care that has gone into renovating it. It's still a work in progress (- aren't all old houses?) but already I hope you will feel and enjoy the love and integrity that we've put into bringing it back to life. We can be as interactive as our guests require or not at all if that is preferred. During your stay we try to leave you in peace but please don't feel we are being stand-offish, we are just trying to give you space. However, please feel free to pop over, text or ring if you have any questions or concerns. There is so much to do and see when you base yourself in South Cadbury. With beautiful local walks and pubs conveniently situated to refresh yourself along the way, there's no need to drive anywhere. However, if you feel more adventurous there are a plethora of local National Trust properties to visit: Stourhead, Montacute, Tintinhull and Lytes Cary to name but a few, are all within easy distance. The historic cities of Bath and Bristol are within an hour's drive as is the the stunning Jurassic Coast. Much closer to home are the local ancient towns of Sherborne and Castle Cary. And if you're into the contemporary arts, look no further than beautiful Bruton 15 minute's drive away to visit Hauser & Wirth's gallery, garden and restaurant. Local railway stations are Castle Cary (London, Paddington) and Sherborne (London, Waterloo). We are happy to arrange pick ups and collections if we are about. If not there are good local taxi services, a list of which I can give you should you wish to stay. Car hire is also available in Yeovil.
