The living area and bedrooms open onto the pool terrace which is perfect for an al fresco lifestyle. As a ground floor apartment, it has easy access for anyone with limited mobility and it has parking available right outside. You enter the apartment into an open plan living area consisting of a fully fitted kitchen (with dishware, pots and pans, and cooking utensils), dining seating for 6 and a lounge area.. The kitchen is fully equipped with Bosch appliances as you would expect from a modern holiday home. There is an extensive range of kitchenware, making its ideal for those who like to cook or entertain, including a cafetiere; turkish coffee maker; and a smoothie maker/blender. The open plan living area boasts a flat screen TV, DVD player. There are comfortable modern sofas, one of which extends out to a sofa bed to accommodate a further 2 guests. Full length glass doors open up onto the outside terrace giving views out to sea and letting light flood into the living area. There are two bedrooms both of which have full length doors opening onto the pool terrace and enjoying beautiful views. The master bedroom is a large double with plenty of storage. The twin room, which can be made into a double if required, is ideal for children. The pool terrace and gardens offer total peace and tranquility – the gardens have been thoughtfully planted and are well maintained so that you can enjoy a variety of Mediterranean flowers. It is the perfect place to sit and enjoy a cool drink before dinner, or just read your book and doze in the heat of the summer sun. Comfortable sun-beds are provided for those sun seekers who want to catch some rays before cooling down in the private pool. If the heat all gets a bit too much then the terrace is beautifully shaded. There is outdoor dining for 6 for those nights you want to stay in and enjoy everything that Villa Bethany has to offer. Free parking on-site for Guests staying at LaVanta. The Neighborhood: KALKAN As a retreat from the rigours of modern life, Kalkan is little short of idyllic! Nestled around a sheltered natural harbour at the foot of the majestic Taurus Mountains, this unspoilt historic town overlooks a bay of breathtaking beauty. A thriving Greek fishing village called Kalamaki until the 1920s; Kalkan is now largely devoted to high-end tourism. Look out for Kalkan's charms in the compact old town including the picturesque harbour, shops, and various eateries including cafés, bars and fine dining restaurants. The town is well served by banks and supermarkets. There is a large Thursday market in town and a smaller local market in the neighbouring village of Akbel on a Sunday. The harbour area caters for all, including a small pebble beach, beach clubs (many of which can be reached by a frequent boat shuttle service); watersports clubs; and not forgetting the very popular past-time of a day at sea. If you wish to venture beyond Kalkan, a visit to Kas (20min drive) would be highly recommended or to Fethiye, which is very popular for shopping. LAVANTA The gated complex that is LaVanta is set within beautiful landscaped gardens overlooking Kalkan and the Mediterranean Sea on Turkey's Turquoise coast. It is a 4-minute drive (or an energetic 20 minute walk) to the centre of town. Its height above sea level means that it benefits from cooling breezes in the height of the summer. There is a large 25m communal infinity pool, plunge pool (for the kids), and a selection of sunloungers and parasols. Sat alongside the pool is the LaVanta Clubhouse which includes a café and bar offer throughout the day. It is unquestionably, the place to enjoy the magnificent hillside setting. The world-renowned Kaputas beach and Patara, with its Lycian ruins are both only a 10-minute drive away. Getting Around: You can access the town via the very reliable local taxi service. If you wish to venture further, the taxi service can take you to many of the popular tourist attractions.
