Situated in the heart of the village and fitted out in an old 19th century barn, your gîte is the result of a renovation that we wished to carry out with respect for the building and the environment. You will stay in a spacious interior (80 sq.m) where the charm of the place and the modernity of the simple and practical arrangements coexist. Are you in the region to reload your batteries? Lovers of walking or mountain biking, the trail tracks are just a few steps away! The house is independent. You're at home there! It is composed of an entrance hall with equipped laundry room, on the ground floor. On the first floor, you arrive on a large living room - 35 sq.m - with open kitchen (dishwasher, new cast aluminium pots and pans, new set of knives, double or even triple crockery, espresso coffee maker, kettle, induction cooker etc.) opening onto the terrace facing south/south-west. On the 2nd floor, two bedrooms with private bathroom welcome you. One offers a king size bed (180x200) and the other one is composed of a 160x200 bed that can be converted into two twin beds. The bedding is new, sheets are provided and the beds are made on your arrival. Whether you're looking for peace and quiet to relax or to concentrate on your work, you've come to the right place! Guests can use the whole house. We will be there to welcome you and will be happy to answer any organizational questions you may have, and to guide you regarding visits or the many activities in the surrounding area. The gîte is located in the centre of the village of Volvic. You have access to all amenities and shops on foot. The first bakery is 3 minutes away! You can, if you wish, visit the Stone Cave to learn about the origins of the famous lava stone, and/or go to the chalet des sources to learn all about the volcanic soil that gives birth to the famous Volvic natural mineral water. You are in the heart of the Auvergne Volcanoes Park - classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site -, 14kms from Vulcania (volcano theme park), 15kms from the Puy de Dôme, 13kms from Clermont-Ferrand and 7kms from Riom. A shopping centre is less than 10 minutes away by car. Situated 15 minutes from the A71 motorway, your accommodation is also ideally placed for a stopover on a long business trip or departure on holiday. Free parking space in front of the house. The village of Volvic is located in the low mountains (400 to 1000m) and offers extremely green landscapes accessible to all. The region offers a wide variety of outdoor activities, all year round : hiking, trail, mountain biking, paragliding, kayaking, snowshoeing... The gîte itself is just a few metres from the first footpaths and longer walks for amateurs (GR441-Tour de la chaine des Puys). The gradients are variable and can satisfy families with young children as well as sporty people looking for good sensations of speed! Also, if you wish, you will have the opportunity to extend your knowledge of volcanism, by walking through the puys, visiting the Vulcania park or the Lemptégy volcano located just a few minutes from the gîte. On the spot, 5 minutes walk from the gîte, you can visit the stone cave which will teach you all about the origins of the exploitation of lava stone and the discovery of the source of the famous natural mineral water of Volvic! A little further up, at the chalet des sources, you can follow the fascinating history of this water which travels through the soil(s) to bring us all its natural benefits... and taste all its variations! For lovers of architectural heritage, the town of Riom - capital of the Terres Royales d'Auvergne in the 13th century - will delight you, as will Clermont-Ferrand and its Volvic stone cathedral.
