Beirut Guesthouse is newly renovated after the devastating blast on Beirut Port. Located less than a kilometer from the epicenter, the guesthouse was badly damaged and the neighborhood is still being revived. While staying here, you can sense the energy of local owners and volunteers rebuilding the city. Furnished in the traditional style of the 1950s, the guesthouse will transport you to the golden era of Beirut, when the city drew in celebrities to its bohemian hotels on the Mediterranean. Beirut Guesthouse is a traditional Lebanese apartment with colourful tiled floors and lovely balconies. Our top-floor guesthouse has five bedrooms and two bathrooms and is spacious and sunny. Each room has the name of a colour and a unique mood. The Pink Room is the sunniest, with windows on two walls. It draws its name from the main colour on the floor tiles. Sip your morning coffee on the balcony of the living room, people watch or soak in the afternoon sun that makes the Arabesque floors glow in pastel shades. The living room, balcony, kitchen and two bathrooms are shared with other guests. The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, fridge and all utensils. Guests can use the washing machine and the dryer in the storage room above the kitchen. We are always available to offer help and sometimes stay at the guesthouse and hang out with our guests. The neighborhood is the go-to place for eating out and you can find anything from Mexican next-door to Chinese and of course Lebanese just around the corner. Gemmayze used to be the night life destination of the 2000's. When the bars opened in Mar Mikhael, Gemmayze started fading out of the social map of Beirut. Until a couple of years ago, when it slowly came back, re-invented itself and is now the neighbourhood with the largest number and variety of restaurants. The port blast of 4 August 2020 affected the area badly, destroying traditional houses and cosy restos but we already see it coming back to life. Strategically located between Downtown (5 min walk), the hustle and bustle of Mar Mikhael (10 min walk), and the trendy Achrafiye (5 min walk). You can get around using taxis (price around town is 10,000 LBP), shared taxis (2,000 LBP), as well as Uber and Kareem. City buses a bit tricky to navigate as the bus stops are not clearly marked.
