Set in the delightful village of Papcastle, close to the Market Gem Town of Cockermouth, the River Derwent and with easy access to the quiet North-Western Lake District. The house itself is over 200 years old and sits elevated with views down the Lorton valley and towards Skiddaw. Papcastle has a lovely village pub The Belle Vue, and a 15 minute walk downhill takes you into Cockermouth with all its restaurants, independents shops and pubs. Built in Georgian times, the house has seperate grandly proportioned dining, living rooms and kitchen on the ground floor, and with a cosy snug room, there is plenty of spaces for everyone to relax. Wood burners in both the living room and dining room provide traditional atmosphere. A sunny, private garden with stunning views of the fells, is dog friendly and has French doors opening onto a patio area from the kitchen. Three large double bedrooms on the first floor (one with en-suite shower room), and one double bedroom on the ground floor (with en-suite toilet). Large family bathroom with deep cast iron bathtub, shower, vaulted ceiling and further views of the fells. If you still need to work from home on your holiday, we have an lovely light filled office looking over the front garden and fast wifi all set up. There is a bus service in Cockermouth with routes to Keswick/Penrith/Carlisle and beyond, a 10 minute walk from the house.
