The porch at Clunes
The Verandah at Clunes is a new architecturally designed house on a hilltop with the best views that historic Clunes can offer. The design features the Australian rural vernacular style, with the verandah wrapping around the whole house and providing enough space for outdoor dining and entertainment, no matter what the weather. The house has 3 bedrooms, 2 with queen beds, and one with twin beds. All the bedrooms open on to the verandah with glazed french doors. The huge country-style kitchen has an open fireplace, and is fully equipped, including a TV with Netflix and the all important coffee machine! A separate and intimate Study also has an open fire and TV, and all the books you could hope to read. There are 2 bathrooms, a Laundry and a walk-in pantry. The house has central heating and cooling, and ceiling fans for the summer months. Pets are welcome, but please, not on the furniture, and be aware that the property is not fenced. There is a bus and train service from Ballarat to Clunes, but travel by car is the easiest and quickest way to get to Clunes. The best local dining and shopping is 10 minute's walk or 1 minute's drive away in Fraser St. Fraser St is the beautiful main street that has been regularly featured in movies due to its pristine condition since the heady days of the Goldrush in the last half of the 19th Century. Clunes also features the best Lolly Shop in Victoria. Clunes is home to the famous Book Fair in May, and there are farmers and craft markets a-plenty in Creswick, Talbot and Clunes. The Clunes annual Agricultural Show is an event not to be missed! The house was designed to be a sanctuary for the weekend, and a place to recover and re boot from the stresses of modern life. We hope it does this for you!
