Are you planning a trip to Maryland for business or pleasure? You can get the feel of "suburbia"; yet be are a short drive to Downtown Baltimore and less than an hour from Washington, DC. Only 10 minutes from BWI Airport or Amtrak; and we are 6 minutes from the Maritime Conference Center. Unless you are a returning guest, you'll need to coordinate your arrival, so that one of us can personally greet you. After check-in, you'll be given an entry code, so that you can come and go, as you please. Due to COVID-19, your access to the first floor will be limited. Until further notice use of the living room and kitchen, must be discussed and approved in advance. Please note: Not only do we live in this house, so does a semi-reclusive cat. She generally does not hang out in the bedroom--unless you leave your door open; but if you are allergic, this is not a good match. The bedroom is on the second floor of our home. You will have a brand new attached bath. If you are a tall person, be careful not to bump your head the bathroom's partially slanted ceiling. If you want to use the air mattress, that MUST BE DISCUSSED IN ADVANCE! While not "historical", the house was built in 1932 and has the narrow hallways and occasionally creaking stairs--which are typical of an older house. Due to COVID-19, your access to the first floor will be limited. Until further notice use of the living room and kitchen, must be discussed and approved in advance. Since you have an attached bathroom; please do not enter the other bathroom at the end of the hall. My availability greatly depends on whether or not it's a school day. If it's a work day for me, I can usually check my email regularly. Evenings and weekends, we're usually here most of the time; but again, I usually check my email--in case you have a question or concern. There's a guest guide waiting in your room, which contains details about the area's transportation, shopping, restaurants and tourists attractions. In general, we are easily accessible to the airport, Amtrak station, the Maritime Conference Center, 2 casinos and Downtown Baltimore (including the Convention Center). We have street parking, if you are driving. We're also walking distance to the light rail system, which can save you a lot on public transportation. Lyft and (especially) Uber are genrally pretty reliable in this area. If you are traveling to/from DC, I strongly suggest using the MARC train, from the BWI Amtrak Station, if you are driving. Due to COVID-19, we prefer masks to be worn, when you are not in your room. If you forget yours, just ask :-) We ask that all guests provide ID. Upon arrival, we will make note of the names and phone numbers of any guests who are not specifically named in the reservation. This is just in case we need to do contact tracing at some point. Please note, we've had NO issues with the virus and take all safety precautions; but we take nothing for granted.
