NB: No smoking More about the space Our country beach house cabin is set on a spacious property located on the eastern end of Karragarra Island in a quiet area at the end of a no through road. It is a very short 100m walk to the gentle waters edge of the island acting as its own private beach. The island is a place of rest and relaxation allowing you to enjoy a slower pace and immerse yourself in nature. There can be limited phone and internet coverage from some providers. The Island beach house is a double story fully equipped house with a max. 8 people occupancy. It includes; 3 queen bedrooms and 1 twin bedroom (2 x singles beds), 2 bathrooms, a modern and fully equipped kitchen, an additional kitchenette, 2 living spaces, 2 dining spaces, large outdoor dining and lounge areas, TV, espresso machine, laundry, BBQ, fire pit, bicycles, kayak and much more... The property offers undercover parking for two cars onsite. The house has panoramic glimpses of the waters of Moreton Bay and direct access to a waterfront beach area. The house is comfortable, warm, cosy with modern decor, and has large verandahs on the top and bottom level with panoramic sea views and a natural bushland setting. It was designed in timber to work in harmony with the untouched natural environment it is nestled within. It mixes the raw earthy beauty of timber with modern accents of glass to capture the bayside and natural setting. It has an extensive range of exquisite Australiana artwork adorning the walls. Take your time wandering through your own private holiday art gallery while visiting. This house offers a warm home away from home. It has a large footprint that offers multiple living and dining spaces. It’s the perfect house for two families to share for each family to have their own space or it’s perfect for the larger family. Subject to availability the house can also be rented as a top or bottom level making the perfect escape for couples. Feel at home with the welcoming experience of all the basic essentials included in your stay. Complimentary tea and coffee, a sampling of local produce and a range of pantry basics to help with your home-style cooking in the gourmet kitchen. It’s a place for families to connect and make memorable holiday moments together. It is rustic yet elegant and composed mainly of large windows and glass doors for panoramic views of the bay and to capture the natural bushland setting. It is integrated with nature and has a warm atmosphere to inspire relaxation and peace. Swing from the hammock on the top deck with your favourite book or for afternoon naps. Connect with your family and share stories around the outdoor fire pit. Explore the island on the bicycle or kayak. COME SPEND AS MANY DAYS AS YOU WISH. The beach house is one of two houses located on the eastern end of the Island on the Barker property. This property also has the permission to access an unspoilt 10 acres of natural land to explore. Enjoy the walking trails and historic pathways created on the Barker property. It has a farm stay charm. Birdwatchers delight as there are many species to find including encounters with the character filled curlews. The main beach area on the island offers white sandy beach with access to the bay. It is equipped with a swimming enclosure, BBQ and picnic areas, public toilets and a children’s playground. With a little luck you 'll see our spectacular bay friends including dolphins, turtles and dugongs. Always a spectacular and fascinating show! Relax, visit your home away from home and take the time to swim, walk, go fishing, bicycle, kayak or bring your own boat to explore the waters of Moreton Bay. Check in and check out is self managed. Caretakers are available on the island for any emergencies Karragarra island affectionately known as 'Karra' is a small village island community with a warm welcoming and friendly feel, everyone waves. Karragarra is a small island only 500m wide and 2kms long. Walking and riding is the best way to get around the island. Please read information about how to get to the island. If you prefer not to take a vehicle onto the island. A transfer from the passenger ferry terminal to the property can be organised with payment made directly to the driver. For information The property is located on Karragarra Island within the Southern Moreton Bay Islands. Access to the Island is via vehicle barge or passenger ferry from Weinam Creek Ferry Terminal, Redland Bay. Redland Bay is located approximately 40 minutes from Brisbane CBD. Karragarra Island is a place of relaxation and rest there are no supermarkets, restaurants or shops on the island. All your requirements need to be brought onto the Island with you. A BBQ picnic area, children’s playground, community garden and emergency services are available on the island. There are supermarkets, restaurants and shops available on Russell Island and Macleay Island that is accessible by a short ferry ride on the free inter-island passenger ferry service. The house is located approx. 2kms from the vehicle barge and passenger ferry terminal on the island. (5 minute drive, 24 minute walk or 6 minute bicycle ride). It is recommended you bring a vehicle on the island to access the property. Contact Stradbroke Ferries for information and bookings for vehicle barge and Translink for information on passenger ferry service. Karragarra Island is surrounded by mangroves making sand-flies present on the island all year round. They are minimal during winter months. Come for a weekend, a week, two weeks, a month or more... This property is natural and beautiful: you will recharge and revitalise your soul, make connections and have a holiday that will create memories forever. STRICTLY: No dogs or animals are permitted No Smoking No parties Maximum occupancy must be adhered to PLEASE NOTE: * The house is rented for a minimum of 2 nights unless stated in other travel period times. **Christmas & New Year's period as well as Queensland School Holidays: the house is rented for a minimum of 5 nights and on a per house basis only (capacity 8 people) ***Cleaning: The house is cleaned by a professional cleaner before your arrival and after your departure. Additional cleaning is available during your stay if you require. An AUD$50 cleaning fee for is required for this service and can be paid directly to the house-keeper. (Details are included in your information book located in the house on your arrival. All rubbish must be removed from the property before departure. Please ensure all lights and air conditioner are switched off before leaving.
