This is the fabulous Steynshoop Valley Lodge's premier suite - the equivalent of a "honeymoon suite". It is superbly spacious and luxurious, with a magnificent king size four-posted bed and a bathroom that one guest referred to as "the ballroom bathroom". It has spectacular views of the Magaliesberg Valley and is very close to the lodge's extensive sporting facilities (tennis court, pool, billiard room, etc.) This beautiful suite has a patio with garden furniture and a weber braai. The Lodge is situated in a world heritage site - the Cradle of Humankind, which has interesting facilities nearby, such as Maropeng and the Sterkfontein Caves. There are interesting wildlife centres such as an elephant sanctuary, the de wildt cheetah reserve and Askari game lodge (which has the big five). The Magaliesberg Mountain Range offer superb scenery and hiking facilities, as well as hot air ballooning safaris. Activities on the Steynshoop estate include: Swimming (2 pools) Volleyball Badminton Croquet Tennis (all-weather flood-lit court) Billiards (full-size table) Braai and outside seating (gazebo) facilities Walking & Hiking On the adjoining Steynshoop Mountain Lodge, which is under the same ownership as Steynshoop Valley Lodge and is in a proclaimed nature reserve, full of indigenous forest, bush and extensive game, there are a variety of walks from 2-4 hours, including magnificent mountain hikes. The area includes thousands of natural protea trees. By prior arrangement longer hikes with a guide provided by the Lodge may be made over the extensive adjoining properties owned by the Mountain Club of South Africa, which includes famous sites such as the Castle Gorge. Wildlife Steynshoop Mountain Lodge has extensive natural game including bushbuck, nyala, mountain reedbuck, baboons, monkeys, kudu, warthog and leopard. Bird Watching At Steynshoop Mountain Lodge there is prolific bird life - for example there are frequent sightings of Cape Vultures, of which there is a cliff-side nesting colony less than five kilometres from the lodge, and Black Eagles, with a nesting pair near the lodge.
