Beautiful cottage on the corner of Highway 56 and Grassy Ridge Road in historic Beersheba Springs. Great outdoor getaway for those seeking adventure. Stone Door State Park is nearby-part of the South Cumberland State Park. This area is mecca for mountain biking and hiking. Feel free to explore the property and surrounding outdoors, or take a walk around the old town. The cottage is in the heart of the historic district. The Caverns music venue is 23.4 miles from the cottage via scenic Hwy 50. The McGee Cottage is perfect for relaxing nights on the screened-in porch, fully equipped with a dining table and daybed. Beersheba Springs is a remote historic mountain village with no restaurants and only one grocery store. Feel free to bring what you need for your stay. The nearest towns are McMinnville and Monteagle. The clean mountain air is one of the hallmarks of Beersheba. We generally keep the windows open during the warmer months and with fans the cottage and screened porch stay very comfortable. However, for those warmer summer nights the queen bedroom is equipped with an air conditioner. Guests are free to access the whole house and grounds. Sanford McGee, the host, will greet you and orient you to the cottage. He will also be available to schedule private tours around Beersheba Springs and interpretive hikes to Stone Door and surrounding scenic areas. The Cottage is adjacent to the roadside park. Located on the original Cockrill Cottage property, which the McGee family purchased in 1926. Surrounded by historic cottages dating back to the 1850s.
