Located in a peaceful white village, our comfy fully-renovated apartment it’s only 10 mins away from unspoiled beaches with crystal-clear water. The place fits 4 people comfortably, and features a spacious living with open kitchen and a South-facing terrace, perfect to soak in afternoon sun. It's the ideal place to relax and enjoy the layback Mediterranean lifestyle and its delicious gastronomy. The apartment is located on a hill of El Pozo de Los Frailes, a small village inside the coastal protected area of Cabo de Gata. It's ideal for couples and families of up to 4 members. It has two bedrooms, each with a comfortable double-bed mattress, reading lights and storage for your clothes. Our favorite parts of the house are the cozy living room with open kitchen and the terrace facing the ochre hills of the Natural Reserve. The terrace has a couple of deck chairs, ideal to soak in sun during the day, and a wooden table to enjoy a Mediterranean dinner in the evening breeze. We fully renovated the apartment on Spring '18, with the goal of having a comfortable and practical apartment with lots of natural light. The kitchen is well equipped with induction stoves, hand blender, toaster and all the kitchenware needed to cook pleasantly. Access to the entire house. Just feel like in your own home. Surrounded by volcanic hills, El Pozo de los Frailes holds some of the best-ranked eateries of Cabo de Gata as well as a stylish bar with high-end tapas and a great variety of drinks and cocktails. In addition to it, conveniency services such as supermarket and pharmacy are just 2 km away, in the neighbor town of San Jose. If you're the kind of person who loves spending the day at the beach, our house is just 10 minutes away from some of the most pristine and uncrowded beaches of the Mediterranean, like Genoveses — awarded by National Geographic as one the Top 3 Best Beaches of Spain in 2017. — Situated inside Cabo de Gata Natural Reserve, the largest coastal protected area of the Mediterranean. The house is strategically located to enjoy a peaceful village lifestyle while providing close access to the crystal-clear waters and landmarks of the region. You'll find an incredible assortment of beaches and coves all within the Natural Park: from an endless stretch of white sand, like Genoveses; to hidden half-moon coves enclosed in rock formations, such as Cala de Enmedio. Some of the beaches are easily accessible by car or bike, ideal for families with kids; whereas others lay secluded behind trekking paths, making them perfect for those seeking out virgin and lonely spots. But Cabo de Gata goes beyond the leisure of its beaches. For the lovers of more proactive experiences, this biosphere reserve also offers all sorts of family-friendly activities like snorkeling, scuba-diving, mountain-biking and even ATV and boat tours. Our favorites: hiking the arid mountains and cliffs with open sea vistas and kayaking along the shore. Fun fact: Cabo de Gata it's a popular filming location for movies and TV shows due the beauty and uniqueness of its land. Remember the seagulls scene with Sean Connery in Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade? That beach, called Monsul, is a 15 min ride from our house :) The house has WiFi and a small desk just in case you need to do some work during your stay. It's also equipped with washing machine and everything you need to stay in comfortably for several days. The best way to get to Cabo de Gata is flying to Almería airport (30 min drive to the house). Other nearby airports, such as Málaga and Alicante, also offer regular low-cost flights from most of Europe's major cities. Moving around by car is probably the best option when visiting. You can rent a car from the airport for as low as 10€/day that will let you explore and apprise some of the most astonishing landscapes in the Mediterranean Sea.
