'Walnut' Cottage

Nestled alongside Kuitpo forest, ‘Walnut’ is the self-contained and private guest wing of our 140 year old, heritage listed homestead. Relax in your private garden, walk the Heysen Trail, climb Mt Magnificent, or visit McLaren Vale Region wineries. 'Walnut' is the original guest wing / apartment of our large cottage. Offering total self containment and privacy it offers: rain water spa bath; hand turned Queen sized bed with goose-down quilt in sky-lit bedroom; well equipped kitchen with full country-style breakfast provisions; RC air conditioner and log combustion fire (firewood included); small DVD and book library; and small private garden with bbq facilities. Off road parking is available. We offer private accommodation, but are just on the other side of the cottage should you need anything or information. Local attractions include: Mount Bold Reservoir, Mount Magnificent, Kuitpo Forest, the Heysen trail, the Kidman trail, Hahndorf, Mclaren Vale Region. Nearby wineries include: K1, Lazy Ballerina, Perrini and Top Note. Guests are also encouraged to visit the Willunga Markets (held every Saturday morning). All guests arrive with their own transport. Local attractions are only a short drive away. Guests with horses may make use of our horse stables, if they wish to use the Kidman Trail. We advise all guests to bring a torch for a night walk in Kuitpo Forest, just over the road, to enjoy the native nightlife - Kangaroos, Possums etc.
