Bright & elegant, stunning views over Offa's Dyke.
The room overlooks the garden and has amazing views of the Shropshire plain. The house is split- level and the room is on the ground floor with own access via french doors. Private bathroom next to bedroom with french doors leading out onto your private terrace perfect for alfresco breakfast in the morning sun whilst enjoying the stunning views. Room includes large fridge, kettle, toaster, selection of cereals, breads, jams, yogurts, berries, juice and homemade cake on arrival! Our house is situated on a hill overlooking Trefonen village. We have a pub, shop and post office, all within a 3 minute walk of our home. The Barley Mow serves excellent food, and is a lovely welcoming village pub. The location is great for visiting Shrewsbury, Ironbridge, Bridgnorth Chester, Ellesmere, also the Welsh side of the border....Llanrhaeadr y Mochnant with it's magnificent waterfall, picturesque Lake Vyrnwy with it's beautiful hotel is a must with it's terrace overlooking the lake ( see my guidebook below) and the beautiful popular town of Llangollen that hosts the international Eisteddfod every July. Bala is another typical Welsh town with a natural lake, Chirk with it's historic aquaduct and viaduct and much much more. There are two stunning walks nearby that we highly recommend namely 'The Moelydd ' and 'Mynydd Myfyr' with scenery and views that will take your breath away! My husband and I and our 3 children ( all grown up now) have lived in Trefonen for 25 years so it's fair to say we know it pretty well which is one of the reasons why I decided to do bnb. Sharing our local knowledge of the area. the beautiful walks, great places to eat, pretty places to visit is very satisfying. We enjoy meeting and interacting with our guests having had many an interesting conversation, however at the same time we're very respectful of guest's privacy. Between us we enjoy many hobbies and interests ranging from music, singing, cars, tennis, aviation, gardening, cycling on our ebikes, walking and we absolutely love cruising!! The peaceful village of Trefonen,3 miles from the market town of Oswestry in the historic Welsh marches is surrounded by beautiful countryside and has a wonderful community. You're sure to have a relaxing time if that's what you're after, on the other hand if you love sightseeing, the location is a perfect for exploring historic and beautiful places and with our warm and friendly welcome I trust you will have a memorable stay! Unless you are walking the Offa's dyke a car is essential as we don't have a frequent bus service . However I'm happy to give you a lift or pickup from somewhere if really stuck Guests that are walking the Offa's dyke are welcome to have sandwiches on arrival or a packed lunch for the following day's walk by prior arrangement.
