This cosy cottage in the heart of Backbarrow is ideally situated for easy access to the fells and lakes. With slate floors to the ground level, wood burning stove, full central heating, bi folding doors from the dining room to the rear patio area for alfresco dining. The wall mounted heater and outdoor lighting allows for long evenings in the fresh air. There is Pod seating on the grassed area in the garden, fabulous for cosying up to share a glass of whatever takes your fancy. Follow the path past the natural well [fenced in] and the apple tree, there is a further decked area with seating at the top of the garden with views directly to the fell beyond. Somewhere for everyone! The entire property is soley for the guest I live nearby and would be available throughout your stay to answer any questions or solve any issues that may arise. The local village has various attractions .. there is a Motor Museum, The Ambio Cafe where you can have lunch or just relax and have a coffee and a cake ... highly recommended! The Anglers Arms Public House which serves cask ales. The Whitewater Hotel has leisure facilities and Spa where you can purchase a day pass. Bigland Hall is available for horse riding and has day passes for fishing at Otter Tarn for rainbow and brown trout. Backbarrow is just off the A590 and is within easy reach of the lakes and hills. The local bus service runs hourly. Being very close to the southern tip of Lake Windermere, Fell Foot Park is 3 miles away. It is 30 minutes to Grizedale Forest and the bustling Lake District towns of Bowness on Windermere, Ambleside, and Grasmere. The local market towns of Ulverston and Kendal are within a 15 minute drive.
