Cosy bedroom in suburbs

Very comfortable and private, the room is downstairs and separate from our living area. The bedroom has been set up perfectly for a student or tourist visiting our city. The room is set up with a double bed, wardrobe, desk and lamp - ideal for a student as well! Kitchenette, bathroom and toilet are also located on the ground floor which are shared by guest/s. The fully equipped kitchenette is solely for the use by guests. A TV is available in common area. A true Aussie family experience. A large family home where we also host students from overseas so our household can be busy at times. Add two family dogs, laying hens, a spoilt turtle and birds it certainly isn't a dull household. Our house is located opposite a large high school oval which can be used after school hours to jog or play basketball. Nearby there are walking tracks through lovely bushland where, if you are lucky you may spot a swamp wallaby. Our house is close to major motorways. Bus stop is 2 mins walk away with regular bus services which take approximately 35-40 minutes to the city and 15 mins to Garden City (a large shopping centre with cinemas, supermarkets and specialty stores). The advantage is that this is a typical Australian home where we are available if you need advice on anything from transport, shops and places to visit. PLEASE NOTE - We have a new puppy in the house from August 13th. He is adorable and we are slowly teaching him manners. Guests have access to shared bathroom/toilet, kitchenette, laundry, back deck and large back yard. The kitchenette downstairs is equipped with a microwave and small oven and stovetop. All cooking pans and utensils are available. If you need anything extra we may have it in our kitchen! We are home most afternoons and evenings as our primary living space is upstairs. We love to help our guests as much as possible - best transport to places, interesting sights to see and where to shop! We value privacy so if guests want to keep to themselves that is perfectly fine, on the other hand if guests want someone to chat to we are happy to oblige. Our neighbourhood is in suburbia and we live within walking distance to parks, bike path and convenience stores (even a Maccas!). Living opposite a large high school's oval guests can take advantage of it after school hours for jogging, sports or basketball. This aspect gives the area a sense of community where there is often people walking past with their dogs or jogging. Our home is close to a bus stop with bus routes to Brisbane city in one direction and Garden City (a large shopping complex) in the opposite direction. Street parking is free and available outside. Bus stop is less than 5 minutes walk. To arrive from Brisbane airport head South on the Gateway, over the Gateway Bridge. Exit the Mt-Gravatt-Capalaba exit. Head right toward Mt Gravatt then right onto Broadwater Road. Our street is 2nd right - Ham Road. We are close to the Gateway if guests have a car and want to go to either the Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast. Gold Coast is approximately 45 minutes away (Northern end) and Sunshine Coast approximately 1 1/2 hours. We are about 20 minutes drive from Brisbane CBD. The times are dependant on traffic. We supply tea and coffee and fresh eggs. For guests staying longer than 2 nights we provide a small breakfast welcome pack which includes bread, cereal, milk, jam plus fresh eggs for a light breakfast. This is a non-smoking household however guests are welcome to smoke outside. We own two dogs who are very used to people coming and going (as long as they know it's ok). As the dogs are part of the family they do come inside in the evenings. They are not permitted in any of the bedrooms. The road we live on can get busy especially around school drop off and pick up times. Although not a main road it is used as a link to get onto the roads leading to the Gateway. Traffic is not heavy but can be constant during peak hour.
