Whytbank is a wonderfully quiet place to stay in the Scottish Borders, ideally situated for cycling and walking, where you will be in awe of the countryside views. You will have the entire self-contained guest suite to yourselves. Accommodation is self catering but we do provide the essentials, including a small welcome hamper. We are proud to offer fresh eggs from our free range hens should you wish to purchase any. For a short break or longer-term we would love to have you to stay and explore. The property consists of a bedroom/living area, a large kitchen, a utility area with plenty of space for bike storage and a shower room. There is a large garden but be warned, we have hens which are free range so they may come for a visit. Ample parking is available. Jack’s Roost is an annexe of a 210 year old farmhouse so although we have added lots of modern comforts, there may be the odd squeaky floorboard or sticking door so please don’t expect it to be pristine! There is ample parking at the property. You will access through the main gate and the entrance is to the right hand side through the side gate. You have access and exclusive use of the large back garden but we may need to use it during your stay to water plants or attend to the hens. I am available most of the time and if I’m not on site I will endeavour to get back to any calls or messages ASAP. We are approximately 4 miles from the borders town of Galashiels where you will find 2 large supermarkets, Next, Boots, Pets at Home, Home Bargains and a variety of restaurants and bars. We are also ideally placed for cycling and walking and only a 20 minute drive from Glentress. It is best to travel by car so you can make the most of the area. Once you are here there are lots of walking and biking trails.
