Harwes Farm Cottage

Our cottage is completely private and self contained boasting 1 kingsize bedroom, a bath/shower room, fully equipped kitchen and sitting/dining room with sprung double sofa bed. The cottage is cosy and peaceful with original features and outdoor garden space to enjoy and plenty of parking space. The cottage sleeps 4 adults or a family comfortably, and can accommodate 5 with the introduction of a folding bed and/or travel cot. Set in the beautiful Pendle Countryside close to Yorkshire. Harwes Farm Cottage is available year round and is completely private and self contained boasting 1 double bedroom, bath/shower room, fully equipped kitchen and sitting/dining room with sprung double sofa bed. The cottage is cosy and peaceful with original features – interior exposed stone walls, beams and sash doors with outdoor garden space to enjoy and plenty of parking space. The cottage sleeps 4 adults comfortably and can accommodate 5 with the introduction of a camp bed or travel cot. Throughout its history, Harwes Farm has been home to farmers, none farmers and even game keepers; Gill & Andy Taylor, proprietors, carry out a little hobby farming with rescued pet sheep, ex battery hens, a family of geese and two rescue cats. They also lead a social enterprise on site offering countryside projects to small groups from the local community and schools. Harwes Farm feels remote, a welcome retreat from town & city offering some stunning vistas! Situated conveniently between Pendle Lancashire – close to Wycollar Country Park, and the Yorkshire Dales – with Bronté Country just across the valley, it is a 10 minute drive up from Colne town centre, with Skipton only 15 minutes away. We are an environmentally friendly cottage: the farm boasts wind turbine electricity, a biomass heating system, onsite spring water and septic tank - we provide toiletries and cleaning products for you that will not harm the environment, we re-cycle and we also have a 7 kw electric vehicle charger. Internally, guests have access to a self contained, ground floor farm cottage conversion, which includes 1 bedroom, a kitchen, a bath/shower room and lounge/dining area. The lounge has the addition of a double sprung sofa bed to allow more guests to stay, and for those musically inclined, there is even a traditional upright piano. Outside, guests have a patio area for their use, but also have access to explore our private woodland. The cottage sits on a network of public footpaths, all just waiting to be explored. The cottage is designed to be self catering, though we are on hand to offer advice for getting out and about or for the provision of clean linen / towels / etc. We are set at the foot of Kelbrook Moor in the stunning Pendle countryside. Set close to the Yorkshire Borders and on a network of footpaths, you're certain to find something or somewhere for you to explore. The closest public transport is either in Colne or Kelbrook, both of which are around a 45min walk away, however we have the number of a great local taxi should it be required. There is parking for at least 2 vehicles to the front of the cottage, with more by arrangement. In particularly bad weather, you may find that vehicular access is restricted to the property, though there are 2 drive way options. All we ask is when visiting Harwes Farm that if you come to go through a closed gate, that you make sure it is closed after you.
