Half Moon House

Half Moon House is a wonderful cottage that has recently undergone extensive refurbishment and combines contemporary fixtures and fittings with period features. Dating from the 1700s the house boasts a wealth of character and charm. It is located in the hamlet of Great Walsingham, just 1 mile from its celebrated neighbour Little Walsingham, famous for its religious shrines in honour of the Virgin Mary. The Norfolk coast at Wells -Next-the-Sea and Holkham are just a short drive away making it the perfect holiday location to explore both the North Norfolk coast and countryside. The cottage is a wonderful holiday home and comfortably accommodates 8 guests in 4 bedrooms with space for one travel cot. The two en-suite double rooms (king beds) are located on the ground floor, whilst the twin room and another double (king bed) are on the first floor and share a bathroom with a bath and a separate shower cubicle. All beds are made up with hypoallergenic feather duvets and pillows with 400 thread count Egyptian cotton bed linen. A hand and bath towel are provided per person are also provided. All bedlinen, towels and protectors are laundered at 60 degrees. The house is Grade II listed and has recently been renovated so the kitchen and bathrooms are all new. The house has been tastefully decorated using a soft pastel palette to complement the period features and contemporary fittings. You enter the house into the large light filled kitchen which you will find is very well equipped - complete with a large oak table to seat 8. The dual aspect sitting room with a large inglenook fireplace with wood burner flows off the kitchen/dinning room. In addition to the two ground floor en -suite bedrooms, you will also find a utility/boot room located under the stairs, where the tumble dryer and an additional fridge are situated. There is a south west facing, private terrace off the kitchen with a charcoal BBQ and outdoor furniture to seat 8. It is the ideal place to enjoy a glass of wine after a busy day exploring the area. With beautiful walks on our doorstep, Half Moon House is dog-friendly and we accept up to 2 well behaved dogs per stay for a supplement of £35 per dog. Or the wonderful dog friendly North Norfolk beaches are just a short drive away.
