Comfy double en suite rooms near town centre

We have a comfy double attic room,, in our warm, tidy and friendly Victorian terrace house. The bedroom is roomy with a double bed , single put up bed if needed, and en suite toilet and wash basin. Guests also have sole use of a second room - a lounge on the first floor which has a very comfortable double sofa bed, breakfast table, en suite shower room and everything you need to make your own breakfast.Dorchester town centre is 10 minute walk away and the Jurassic coast nearby. We have a very spacious,comfy double attic room, newly decorated, in our warm and friendly Victorian terrace house. The bedroom is roomy with a double bed and en suite toilet and wash basin. We also have a single put up guest bed which is suitable for an extra person, particularly if you have a child. What's more, guests have sole use of a second large room, also newly decorated - a lounge area directly below on the first floor with a sofa which turns into comfortable double sofa bed. There is a good sized en suite shower room, and second toilet attached to this room. This second room can be used simply as a sitting room and breakfast area when one or two guests are staying, or the sofa bed can be made up and used for additional family members or close friends, sharing the ensuite shower room. There is a TV in this room. We provide a kettle, toaster and a fridge, with all the ingredients for a continental type breakfast - tea, coffee, milk, cereals, yoghurt, fruit, bread, jams etc. for you to help yourself to. There is also a microwave which can be used for heating up ready meals etc if you don't want to eat out ( there are several supermarkets including Waitrose, Co-op and a Cook in the town centre). There is a large Tesco on the edge of town. We will clear away and wash up , and keep the fridge topped up. Our kitchen can be used by arrangement for longer term guests . The set up means guests are pretty much self contained. (However as guests have to come through the house to access their rooms, we prefer not to host those who are likely to return late and noisy.) We live downstairs and along the landing on the first floor with our own bathroom. You will have a key to come and go as you wish. Generally we keep our own living space separate. Please note that this is a fairly small family home and the rooms are not completely self contained. As we like our sleep, it is not suitable for guests who are attending an event and are likely to return very late and possibly noisy. We are around most of the time, and are very happy to chat and give advice on the area if you wish. We are both retired , and enjoy walking, gardening and travelling, and supporting local arts events. Dorchester is a lovely market town and we are only 10 mins level walk from the town centre where there are various museums and attractions, shops, cafes and restaurants There is a new development, Brewery Square, with shops and restaurants, and two railway stations , linking to London and Weymouth , and Bristol and Bath. We are walking distance from both stations. There are 2 cinemas, an Arts centre , and a bustling market on Wednesdays. We are surrounded by beautiful countryside and the Jurassic coast is only 15 mins drive away. Many of our guests have enjoyed exploring places such as Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, Lyme Regis, Abbotsbury, Bridport and West Bay, and Weymouth and Portland. Thomas Hardy enthusiasts will love all the local connections. You can walk to Max Gate in 10 mins and there is a lovely longer walk, or short drive, to Hardy's birthplace. Dorchester makes a great base for a holiday or short break. We love the area and are happy to suggest places to visit. We are also walking distance from Dorset County Hospital and the County Council offices , for those who are coming here to work or attend Conferences etc As well as excellent rail links, there are buses and we can provide timetables. We have a springer spaniel, who will be kept out of the way, although he is very friendly
