The Red House on the Hill

The red house on the hill offers a clean and comfortable stay with a small but fully fitted kitchenette with private bathroom and balcony. The two rooms are located on the top floor of the house and are accessible only by the staircase. Uttigen is a sleepy residential village on the outskirts of Thun and lies at the entrance to the Bernese Oberland. It is on one of the main North-South transit routes of Switzerland with quick access to the freeway and local rail services. Basic local shopping is within a 5 minute walk. A favorite local activity is gently drifting down river to Berne on a pneumatic boat. The trip takes a little over 3 hours and boat rentals are possible at the train station. Public transportation is within minutes walking distance. Trains leave Uttigen in either direction every half hour. You can be in Thun in 7 minutes, Berne in 32 minutes and Interlaken Ost in 50 minutes. Consult the online time-table of the SBB for more connections
