Our modern architect designed sunny 3 bedroom home with views of islands, steeples and fishing boats is surrounded by rolling lawn, gardens, a pond, and sandy beaches. An hour north of Bar Harbor, you can kayak, hike, or sit on the screened porch and watch eagles soar. There are 2.5 baths, a library, living room, dining area. Fast wifi. Washer dryer. The kitchen is well stocked and guests could put their kayaks in at the foot of our property. This piece of property is at the end of a long finger that juts out into the sea. Its sloping lawns are surrounded by water: a pond, the Eastern Bay and open ocean. It is in a remote area of Maine where tourists seldom travel. Buy lobsters from the local fishermen, walk the beaches, and stay in a home that is filled with art and light. Upstairs ,the house has a master bedroom with bathtub and queen bed, and two more bedrooms, one with a queen bed and another with two twin beds and another guest bath with a tiled shower. A mile long sandy beach across the street. Beautiful hikes on Great Wass Island, Bold Coast Trail. Puffins on Petit Manan, a short boat ride away. All the lobsters and steamers you could ever want to eat. The steamers in the bay are the sweetest I've ever tasted. Good grocery shopping 15 mins away. Fast wifi. The sunrises over the ocean from the bedroom windows are free. We will be available by phone but the house will be all yours. It is spectacularly beautiful. Every turn has another breathtaking view, but it is far from the maddening crowd. John Marin, the 20 th century modernist painter, chose to live just around the corner from this house because he thought the coast here was so beautiful. Many of his paintings depict this spot in the world. You could fly into Portland or Bangor and rent a car. There is no public transportation, we are truly at the end of the world. The nearest place to buy milk is a 15 minute drive away but the grocery store there is well stocked and Machias has a fine wine and cheese store. DId I tell you that we have high speed internet? 5G.
