Il Roccolo, Ascoli Piceno

La Casetta is a self-contained single storey stone cottage situated 11km from Ascoli Piceno on the side of Monte Piselli with views down over Ascoli Piceno and the Tronto valley right the way down to the Adriatic coast. Comprising three bedrooms, a family bathroom, a large lounge/dining room/kitchen. It also has a private garden and outdoor eating area which is a light and airy place to stay in the summer. The cottage is on the opposite side of a courtyard from the main house where the owners live but has it's own private garden and shaded outdoor dining area with views to the sea and sole use of a roofed outdoor games area including darts and table football. Guests are also free to roam and relax in our 7 acres of woodland and meadow, perhaps meeting with our chickens and donkeys en route. Various seats,hammocks swings and toys can be found in shady corners. There are BBQ areas and a wood burning pizza oven, with help available if required! Bedrooms comprise one large double bedroom, one twin bedroom and one single bedroom with the possibility of adding a cot or foldaway single if required. All linen is provided and changed weekly. We do ask that you bring your own beach towels, however. There is a washing machine and washing line for sole use of the guests. Just up the hill from us at Pianoro di San Marco, is a public open air pool with bar and restaurant. There are beautiful walks, both gentle and more demanding, on this mountain (Monte Piselli) and a little further afield (Monti della Laga, Monti Sibillini) for which we can provide information and maps if required. Particularly in the spring the flower and birdlife of the area is spectacular. If you prefer sightseeing the stunning city of Ascoli Piceno is at the bottom of the hill and we are not far from Civitella de Tronto with it's amazing fort, Offida the centre of the wine producing area, the gastronomic centre of Norcia, or from the coast with their 'bandiera blu' sandy beaches. Food and wine is generally good and restaurants are plenty, again, we are happy to advise and can also help booking some activities. A car is essential to fully appreciate the area.
