Villa Giulia, in Art Nouveau style, was built in 1912 on a "palmento" and a pre-existing cellar, dating back a few centuries earlier. Exactly one century later, in 2012, the restructuring started and ended in April 2015. The "palmento" has been restored. Today the ancient milling tanks are exposed. The system for decanting the grapes is still visible in the current living room. The elegant Villa is located near the historic center of Ruffano, an ancient town located in the territory of the "Serre del Salento" (a plateau extension of the "Murge di Puglia" consisting of hills) and located in the center-south of the Salento peninsula , equidistant (about 15-20 km) from the most exclusive beaches of the Ionian Sea (Torre San Giovanni, Maldives of Salento, Gallipoli etc.) and from the rocky bays of the Adriatic Sea (Marina Serra di Tricase, Marina di Castro and Marittima, Marina di Novaglie, Santa Maria di Leuca, etc.). The architecture of the Villa is typical of noble villas of the late nineteenth century, as well as the structuring of the garden characterized by stone porticos. Today, the kitchen is located in the large "Palmento", the winery, that is the place where the grapes were crushed in ancient times to produce wine, equipped with ancient stone tanks, which can still be admired today preserved by large sheets of glass . In the back of the Villa immediately catches the attention the elegant swimming pool, equipped with every comfort and surrounded by an enchanting and verdant garden of olive trees and fruit, flowers and Mediterranean plants. The Villa extends on a level on a raised floor of about 300 square meters; the large entrance characterized by the high ceiling built with the typical star vaults, gives access to a large central living area and the first two double bedrooms, each with a bathroom. The living room is equipped with a relaxation area with sofas and satellite TV, reading crystal tables. You then enter the other two double bedrooms, each with a bathroom; one of these rooms is annexed to a room with a second kitchen that overlooks and conveniently serves a furnished veranda. All rooms are decorated with a pleasant mix of modern and antique style, air-conditioned and served by the four private bathrooms, two of which have typical stone baths.
