We invite you to stay in our inspirational Writers retreat magically set in the heart of Alexandra Park. This tranquil setting is the perfect get away for couples looking for a creative and inspiring break amongst the trees. Located inside the beautiful Alexandra park this property offers the best of Hastings with the Beach, park, Town Centre & Hastings Historic Old Town within walking distance. The Cottage is accessed by following path through the park to your private gate and entrance. Away from the road and the hustle and bustle of town life, you can imagine yourself inside a forest. The ground floor opens to the living room which contains an extensive record collection and TV with Chromecast (both of which you are very welcome to use), a big comfy couch, and a super comfortable retro swivel chair. Also on the ground floor is the piano room, perfect for catching some morning sun and tinkling the ivories. There is an eat in kitchen with a gas hob, gas oven, microwave, dishwasher, and coffee making facilities, leading to the private cottage garden where you will find an outdoor dining set complete with umbrella and a charcoal BBQ (BYO sustainable charcoal). The outdoor chairs recline for those lazy afternoons watching the blackbirds and magpies cooling off in the birdbath. Follow the stairs up and you will find two double bedrooms with wool rugs and leafy views. Really fantastic memory foam mattresses with crisp white Egyptian cotton linen and fluffy pillows make the beds extremely welcoming and ensure you’ll have a great night’s sleep. Just next door to the bedrooms is the writing room. A room with a small desk, a small library of classic and contemporary literature, and a big armchair for those times you need to wait for a little inspiration. Look inside the bureau and you’ll find boardgames to keep the gang occupied on lazy days. The bathroom has a separate shower and bath, great for a long soak after a day walking or at the beach. There are natural, vegan toiletries provided (body wash, shampoo, conditioner) which are each scented with essential oils only. The home contains original Hastings artwork and is decorated in a modern and bright, but period sensitive style. William Morris wallpaper sits side by side with a blue velvet couch and a mid-century bureau.
