No parties/large indoor/outdoor gatherings allowed due to small size of cabin, proximity or neighbors & quiet atmosphere. Great location to explore New England from. Below the cabin, visible from the deck is a small deeded private lake beach,( be advised its a sloped/steeper incline road down to this beach) please use only dock on left side of beach lot. Its a small space and ideally suited to couples or small parties up to four people to ensure a comfortable stay. With that being said, I hope you will treat this cottage and the beach area, as you would your own home, the beach area is a private beach shared by all homeowners in the immediate area - it is usually quiet but on holidays and heatwaves, you can expect company - there is no trash pick up or cans, please carry out all trash. I Equal parts year round dwellings and seasonal cottages, the area is hilly and part of what is known as "the last Green Valley", a national heritage area known for being peaceful, and rich in outdoor recreation. The lake area is mostly cottage dwellings typical of New England recreational lake settings: close house proximity but very quiet. Close to Bigelow Hollow State Park, Union CT , Brimfield forest, Wells State, several smaller land trust hiking areas, the famous Tree House Brewery (20 minutes!) parks for hiking/walking in addition to fishing at Hamilton Reservoir (fishing license suggested). GPS takes you here, close access to I-84, exit 74 or MA Pike, room for 3 cars/trucks in front parking spaces. Holland is a lake community without a downtown per se - retail and food shopping, entertainment outside of lake activity, restaurants your best bet is to go into Sturbridge, which is easily accessed via Sturbridge Rd. Uber and riding sharing not available, Sturbridge has taxi service available Guests are required to be age 25+ **** WINTER SEASON GUESTS: the cabin is peaceful and scenic this time of year but please note the terrain is hilly, the cabin is on the side of a hill, and New England weather can be challenging, snow and/or icy or mix. Please use extreme caution on steps, walkways, parking areas. The town and/or neighbors usually have Williams lane cleared after a snowfall, but in the event of extreme snow/blizzard pending conditions, changes or cancellations of booking may be unavoidable. Feel free to use all kitchen items, Please wash dishes, no dishwasher/garbage disposal on premises. Help yourself to coffee and whatever snack items or breakfast items are in fridge/cabinets!
