Lovely apartment "Il Pettirosso"
The apartment has a private entrance with a large main living space, a bedroom and a bathroom. The spacious bedroom has a double bed, beautiful wooden beams and a built-in bar. The main room has plenty of traditional character, with space for cooking, eating and relaxing. It includes a newly fitted kitchen, pellet stove burner, dining table and a comfy sofa. The sofa folds out to a single bed, if needed. There is also a second single pull-out bed provided if families wish to convert the main living space into a sleeping space. The space is ideal for couples, single guests or families with small children. In theory we can accept up to four people using the double bed, single sofa bed and single pull-out bed, but please note the single pull-out bed would need to be placed next to the double bed or sofa bed. Recanati is known as the town of poetry, as the famous poet and writer Giacomo Leopardi lived here. The town is very quaint, with well maintained cobbled streets and a beautiful main square. There are restaurants, bars and plenty of live music and little festivals during summer weekends. One of the two lovely parks in Recanati is just above the apartment. Our ‘local’ pub is within the park (2 mins). We recommend Cafe De La Paix in the main square for a coffee or an early evening aperitivo. There is also a fantastic Gelateria in the square. If you d like to try a nice restaurant with local dishes La bottega del Villaggio is only 5 minutes away. Also for a cheaper meal, we think the best pizza to be found is at the take-out place called Pizzeria Romana . Nearby towns to visit include Porto Recanati, Loreto (with its magnificant Basilica), Sirolo, Monte Lupone, Monte Cassiano and Macerata. The Monte Conero Coast (35 mins drive) has stunning beaches including San Michele, Mezzavalle and Due Sorelle. It is definitely easier to bring or hire a car for exploring the towns and beaches around Recanati. There is a free public car park 2 mins from the house, which we ve never seen without space. For Recanati itself, you can walk to the main square in 8 mins and to the local shops (and two amazing restaurants) in 5 mins. It is 12 mins walk to the bus stop ‘Porta Cerasa’ which has buses to Porto Recanati (12 per day), Loreto, Osimo, Ancona (15 per day) and Macerata (13 per day).
