Unique farmstay experience with a private balcony and garden views
Summary: Your hosts are Philip & Christine who are super friendly and love hosting guests on their farmstay. They have a working bird farm with 160 pairs of pure and rare parrots which they incubate and hand rear the eggs/babies that require feeding every two hours. They also have a large variety of other animals including deer, pigs (and sometimes piglets), cows, goats, horses, miniatures horses, a miniature pony, friendly kangaroos, emus, rabbits, guinea pigs, pure bred chickens & chicks, quail, doves, lorikeets, sugar gliders, assorted reptiles, often have baby animals, 50 citrus trees (grapefruit, orange, lemon, kaffir lime & mandarin), dams with trout and yabbies, native birds and wildlife on property. Staying on Phil & Christine's farm, you will have an experience of a lifetime! Please note Phil & Christine have all of the appropriate wildlife licenses for their animals. Your stay includes continental breakfast. The Space: Guests have their own living area with a balcony which has magnificent view over the Dandenongs with not another house in sight. Guests can watch the horses in there paddock down below them, the sunsets on that side of the property which is also a highlight for our guests. The guest room has 1 queen bed, 1 double bed & a double sofa bed with a private bathroom attached to the main room. The small kitchenette contains a bar fridge, microwave, small dishwasher, toaster and kettle. A portacot and kids high chair is available on request. There is a BBQ on the balcony for if guests would like to cook their own lunch or dinner. The large room also has a dining table and a lounge area with a TV. Christine loves to cook and entertain for guests. Lunches or dinners can be arranged for $30 per adult/per meal and $20 per child/per meal (3-12 years old) or a brunch/Devonshire tea for something different which is $20 per adult and $10 per child (includes milkshake for kids). We could also organise a picnic lunch so guests can enjoy a trip to Emerald Lake and see Puffing Billy or go fishing at the trout farm (to be arranged before visit). Guest Access: Phil & Christine are on 20 acres which is fenced all around with deer fencing (approx. 7 foot) and electric gates at the entrance with an intercom connecting to the main house, which makes it very secure for guests to park their car and feel safe. The Neighborhood: Their farm is situated less than 50km from Melbourne CBD. Emerald is the closest shopping centre which is about a 10 min drive from their home and Monbulk is around 15 mins away, both have major stores without the hustle and bustle of bigger towns. Getting Around: Self-drive to the farm or pick up from Belgrave Station can be arranged ($40). Interaction with Guests: We try to make our guests feel like part of our family and spoil them a little, especially children, they don’t want to go home.
