Only a short drive from the famous Mussel Inn, and to Collingwood which offers cafes and Farewell Spit Tours. This part of the area has a number of potters and artists studios. Wharariki Beach is by far one of the most stunning beaches in New Zealand. Huge rock formations, sand hills, caves, cliffs, dunes , white sand and baby seals. Farewell Spit is New Zealand’s longest sand spit (25 km) and a nature reserve. It is an internationally-renowned bird sanctuary with over 90 bird species recorded in the area. Heaphy Track is one of New Zealand’s nine great walks. Many people choose to walk only to the first or second huts on the track instead of walking its entire length which have toilets and running-water facilities. The Heaphy Track, also allows mountain bikes. Abel Tasman National Park is a must see, golden sand and clear waters, 3 hour to 3 day walks. Don't forget your camera.
