The Space: Key Feature # Direct Beach Access # Fenced Decked Area # Outside Table & Chairs # Charcoal BBQ # Sun-Loungers # One Dog welcome # Travel Cot, Stair Gate & High Chair On entering the property there is a ground floor entrance hall, separate utility room housing a washing machine and clothes airer, a double bedroom with a king-sized bed and large wardrobe, with views to the countryside. Adjacent to this bedroom there is a ground floor shower room with a walk-in shower cubicle, pedestal wash hand basin and lower level wc. The rest of the accommodation is situated on the first floor including a 19’1 x 10’8 lounge looking out to sea, an impressive 23’8 x 8’3 second reception room with a dining table and chairs to seat 8 guests, also enjoying sea views. The property boasts a good sized and well fitted modern grey kitchen housing a full range of utensils, plates, pots and pans along with a toaster, microwave, kettle, American fridge freezer and microwave. The open plan kitchen and dining area leads into the spacious lounge which has a 70 inch flat screen tv, a large leather corner sofa and additional lounge chair and a bar area with two raised bar stools, with French doors opening onto a superb two-tiered sundeck with spectacular sea views and leading down directly on to a private beach. The sun deck has a modern rattan table and chairs along with four sun loungers. There are three additional bedrooms on this level, one has a king-sized bed, one has a double bed and the other has two single beds, a travel cot and all with plentiful storage facilities for clothes. There is an additional family shower room with a shower area, pedestal wash hand basin and a low level wc adjacent to one of the bedrooms. At the front of the property there is off-road parking for several cars, along with a mature garden with shrubs and plants and a raised sun patio enjoying a rural outlook. Pevensey Bay has a dog friendly shingle beach, it is a seaside resort in miniature, a good place to take a holiday and really unwind. We allow one small dog to stay in the property but please note the stair gate must be put across and the bedroom doors need to remain closed to prevent the dog from going on the beds. Covid-19 Guidelines All guests are responsible for meeting any U.K current Covid-19 guidelines in place whilst staying in one of our properties. The Neighborhood: To the west of 1066 country stands Pevensey Bay on the coast. Pevensey Bay is famously known as William of Normandy's landing place in 1066. Pevensey Bay is an old fishing village founded in the 1600's as Wallsend, the end of the sea wall from Eastbourne. Pevensey village is located on a ridge of land, which juts out onto marshland and until the 13th Century the marshes were an inlet of the sea. Over time the large bay was gradually cut off from the sea by shingle and today the marshes known as Pevensey Levels, a large nature reserve, stretches for miles behind the shingle beach. A number of Martello towers were erected along the bay at the beginning of the 19th century against Napoleonic attack. In the early 1900's the village became a holiday resort it is today with much of the coastline development started in the 1930's. Today it is a popular tourist attraction with the nearby historical Pevensey Castle. Pevensey Bay is well known today to all sailing enthusiasts. The local sailing club offers a variety of classes of boats and has a full programme of racing. The inspiring 31 mile 1066 Country Walk starts at Pevensey Castle, winds its way to Herstmonceux, through Battle and across the countryside to Rye. Getting Around: Pevensey Bay, adjacent to Coast Road On Wallsend Road, near Richmond Road Buses point south-east ↘ Departures Bus number 99 to Eastbourne Town Centre Pevensey Bay train station is approximately 1 mile from the property Other Things to Note: A damage deposit of £200.00 is payable . For direct bookings with beachside holiday rentals, this amount will be held on your payment card on the day that you check out and returned to your card after a full inspection has been completed and within 14 days of departure. The cleaning fee covers all cleaning, laundry/towels and bed linens which we provide for your stay.
