Set in 24 acres in the Northumberland National Park and in the Northumberland Dark Sky Park, Tyne is spacious and comfortable and you'll begin to relax the minute you arrive. Surrounded by fabulous views, Tyne is one of four lodges on the historic Brown Rigg estate, which was converted from the science block when Brown Rigg was a boarding school. The site was designed by famous architect Thomas Smith Tait, who was also responsible for the design of Selfridges, the Kodak Building and the pylons on the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Tyne is set around a private courtyard area, which is great for children to play and cycle on. Guests also have use of the games field which is directly behind the lodge. There is a communal Function/Games Hall with a pool table, table tennis table and a selection of board games and toys. The Function/Games Hall is also ideal for hosting a family celebration or a group event and is available for use by guests, unless it has been booked for a private function (for which there is a separate charge). Pet friendly, we accept 2 well behaved dogs during your stay for a small charge. There is also free WiFI. Tyne is perfectly situated for accessing the Pennine Cycleway (Route 68), the Sandstone Way, and the Reivers Route. The Pennine Way National Walking Trail also passes the entrance to the Brown Rigg estate and there are also several local walks direct from your doorstep. There is a secure cycle store, bike wash and a free drying and laundry room. Fishing is available on the nearby River Tyne. Kielder Forest, Kielder Observatory and Hadrian`s Wall are all within an easy drive and shops, pubs and restaurants are just a short stroll away in Bellingham. Tyne Details: Terraced - single storey Open plan Sitting Room, Kitchen and Dining area with seating, cutlery and crockery for 6. The Kitchen has a kettle, toaster, electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with a small freezer compartment. 2 Twin bedrooms. 1 Bunk bedroom. Bathroom - with shower cubicle and basin. Separate toilet. Central heating. All bed linen is supplied. Ample parking outside the lodge.
