Charming House provides all the extras needed to relax and rest in between sightseeing. We have board games, books and a television with Netflix. We are family friendly: with a baby cot, children's higchair and stair safety gate. We make travelling easier, with a washing machine and clothes dryer and a full kitchen. We provide bicycles to explore the city the local way and a delightful private courtyard for your morning coffee. There is also a wonderful rooftop terrace bar and restaurant just next door, where you can take in some of the best views of Haarlem. You are right in the centre of beautiful Haarlem with easy access to Amsterdam and a 24 hour bus directly to AMS Schiphol Airport. You also have the tulip fields and famous Keukenhof Gardens, the Zandvoort beach and historical Dutch villages all closeby for delightful day trip excursions. Haarlem is a lively city full of excellent restaurants, bars and nightlife, museums and boutique shopping. If you are visiting The Netherlands, this really is the location to be! Located in the centre of old town Haarlem and within walking distance to everything this lovely city has to offer, is this quaint 200 year-old townhouse that is fully-equipped with modern conveniences to allow you to appreciate it's old-style charm in comfort. The entire house is available to you when you select this property and it can accommodate up to 4 people. Downstairs is a modern and stylish dining and kitchen area, with French doors that open out onto a private garden courtyard, complete with 2 bicycles for guests to use for free during their stay. Guests can relax in the lounge area where there is an electrical fireplace which adds a charming ambiance to the room or socialise around the comfortable dining area. Upstairs, there is a modern bathroom, european laundry and a spacious light-filled loft bedroom with an adjacent sitting area which can be converted into a second sleeping space, separated by a heavy curtain. In this space, there is also a television that you can view from the sofa or from both of the beds. You can also make use of all the amenities provided, including 2 free bicycles, LED Smart TV with Apple TV and Netflix, central heating, high-speed WiFi, stereo system, fully-equipped modern kitchen, dishwasher, microwave/oven, coffee-maker, alarm clock, washing machine and clothes dryer! We also provide all towels and linen. We also have a baby-bed for hire at 35 euros per stay, including linen, highchair and stair safety gate. Haarlem is a beautiful cobble-stoned city, 15 minutes by train from the centre of Amsterdam (with trains leaving every 10-15 minutes) and with a direct connection to Schiphol airport. The popular beach village of Zandvoort is also only 15 minutes by train from the city centre and Haarlem is very central for day trips throughout the Netherlands with excellent road and train systems and extensive bicycle routes. Haarlem is the provincial capital of North Holland, located on the banks of the Spaarne river and is a relaxed city, full of picturesque canals, a maze of narrow medieval streets, hidden gardens, quality restaurants and many of the best dutch museums. The city is also a historical beer brewing centre has a lively culture and active nightlife. A one minute walk from the house will lead you to ‘Kleine Houtstraat', a pretty boutique shopping street voted to be the best in The Netherlands many times. Haarlem is perfect for a romantic getaway as well as partygoers and makes an excellent base for visitors to Amsterdam and other surrounding areas, as well as being a great destination in itself, with everything you could want at your doorstep. Nature is just a short bike ride away and the dunes surrounding the beach village of Zandvoort are very picturesque. Getting Around: Buses and trains are just a short walk from the house. The neighbourhood is quiet and Haarlem is a safe city to walk at night time. We also provide 2 bicycles for guest's use and there are more available to hire within the city, however the house is very central and accessible to the city by foot. Paid parking is available in the carpark directly next door. Free parking is also available within a quick 5 minute walk. The train station is located on the other side of the city centre and is a 10-15 minute walk or quick bus ride. We are travelers ourselves and we know how difficult communication can be in a foreign country and that transport delays can occur. For this reason, we have a locked keybox check-in system that will allow you to arrive at a time that suits you (within our advised times), without needing to stay in contact with your arrival time. We are readily available to answer any questions you may have and have included a neighbourhood guide of recommendations in the local area both in the house and in the Hospitality section of this website. We have additional costs and cleaning times and taxes, so we appreciate your honesty and fairness. We also have a baby-bed for hire at 35 euros per stay. This fee also includes extra towels, highchair and stair safety gate. Sorry, we cannot accept any pets. ***Please be aware if booking with children or elderly people, that we have very steep traditional dutch stairs that may prove a mobility issue. Please see the photographs as a reference before booking. However, we have provided a children's safety gate and had many senior guests and children that haven't found this to be an issue and embrace them as part of the charm of living like the dutch. :)***
