Villa Tirta Indah is situated just outside Ubud, Bali in a natural setting, away form the hustle and bustle of the center. The Villa is rented as 3 suites in the main house and there is the option of including the Temple Suite for parties of 6 or more. Accommodations for small children can also be made. The Villa is about a short drive through stunning rice fields and scenery. Being outside the center allows for a quiet and relaxing stay. The lower level features an open living room that can double as an additional sleeping area. The living room opens onto the villa’s beautiful grounds that feature a large private swimming pool, overlooking the organic garden and the traditional Balinese gazebo. Inside Living and Dining Areas: Relax in the main living area where you will find a flat-screen TV and entertainment center (large movie library provided, but no cable), a stereo, and an iPod dock. There is also a couch with a fold out queen-sized bed that sleeps two to accommodate additional guests. The villa’s modern, full-sized kitchen with granite counter tops includes everything you might need to prepare healthy, fresh, gourmet meals. Enjoy meals in our bright dining area just off the kitchen. The staff is also available to prepare any or all meals and arrangements can be made with the property manager upon check-in. Outside Living: The villa grounds are spacious and private, with over half of the property devoted to productive, organic fruit and vegetable gardens, and large private swimming pool. The grounds are landscaped, with a gazebo and beautifully lit pathways (perfect for wedding ceremonies). Babysitting: Our staff is happy to babysit or organize for a sitter upon request and at an additional fee at a good rate. Each year our neighborhood temple has a celebration, and the procession passes right by the gazebo on our property. Our Balinese neighbors will be delighted to show you secret swimming holes, a waterfall, temple ruins, and local sites, that you would never find without a Balinese guide. When you are ready to see the sights, your driver awaits, with recommendations for a diverse range of popular attractions as well as local secrets. If you visit central Ubud, you can enjoy lunch or dinner, stroll through town, visit Monkey Forest, Ubud Palace, the Ubud market, see rice fields being planted, or watch a Balinese weaver making cloth. Your driver will be waiting for you when you are ready to go back to the villa. Water has special religious significance to Bali’s Hindus, and our villa is located near many of the sacred water sites, such as Lake Batur, Bali’s largest lake. 5577-foot Mount Batur, which is still an active volcano, is located in the caldera that contains Lake Batur. A key 10th-century temple, Pura Ulun Danu Batur, is dedicated to the goddess of the lake. The temple is built over one of the many hot springs said to possess curative powers. Visit the Elephant Sanctuary, and watch the elephants—and baby elephants—bathe in the pond. You’ll also have a chance to feed the elephants fruits and vegetables, which they’ll take right out of your hand. Also nearby is Goa Gajah, or Elephant Cave. The cave is carved into the cliff face, and is close to 1,000 years old. There are two square pools by the caves, with carvings of female figures spouting water. From the natural beauty and spiritual energy of sacred temples, to healing spa and hot spring experiences or active mountain biking, hiking, and river adventures, there is something among Bali’s attractions for every visitor to fall in love with. Transportation: The driver is available between 9am-9pm (also available earlier by request). Your stay will include one complimentary transportation, once per day, to and from central Ubud from 9am to 9pm. Additional transportation (more than once per day) to Ubud will be at additional cost.
