Hudson Valley Retreat

Quiet cabin near woods and water. A mature oak forest behind the house and the Rondout River just steps away make this a peaceful getaway. The house is beautifully furnished. (It's my weekend home, not a rental business.) Two modern baths. Full kitchen. World-class hiking and climbing in the nearby Shawangunk Mountains. Wood burning fireplaces in the living room and the master bedroom. Indoor dining table plus a big cedar picnic table on a stone patio for outdoor dining. The house has two floors, with the kitchen, living and dining on the ground floor. Upstairs, under a vaulted ceiling, are master bedroom with porch and a smaller bedroom. Above the separate garage is a separate sleeping/living area with two twin beds, sofas and a private deck -- three seasons only (no heat and no water). Wood-burning fireplaces in the living room and the master bedroom and a copper firepit outside for cool nights. The villages of High Falls and Stone Ridge with great restaurants, craft fairs and shops are nearby. Mohonk Mountain House and the Minnewaska State Park with their miles of trails are about a 15 minute drive. Many local swimming holes, or just head to the river next to the house. I have a canoe and two kayaks you are welcome to use. I do not rent for periods shorter than one week.
